Need to restage cancer
Due to being castration resistant and PSA rising while on Xtandi/Lupron, his MO says she needs scan(s) to restage his cancer. The problem is that my husband can't tolerate lying on his back for the duration and/or keep his arms raised above his head. He tried to have a PET scan last year but had to cut

How long after chemotherapy you return to your "normal" pre chemotherapy?
Between March and July 2022 I had six rounds of Docetaxel + Carboplatin and I dont seem to recover ,mainly fatigue. Can not bring myself to some decent level of energy. my pre treatment Karnofsky index was 90-100 , now it is 70-80 š I'm also doing Lupron shots and Nubeqa which of course contribute

My husband was diagnosed in Jan 2020 with stage 4 prostate cancer with bone metastasis. He is castrate-resistant. He is on Lupron every three months. Zytiga failed after about a year. He is now on his fourth chemo (cab) which the doctor thinks is not working. He mentioned four options that he thinks

Triplet therapy - stage 4 diagnosis
Is it best to start triplet therapy first before trying other treatments for stage 4 ? My uncle is stage 4 with spread to nearby lymph nodes and seminal vescile invasion, but no bone spread. They are starting him on Casodex and lupron shots. Can he actually do tripley therapy right away or have

First ever PSMA scan shows two small bone lesions
I recently posted about my father who had just completed IMRT and three years of Lupron (no mets seen on bone/CT scans). At the time his MO was suggesting adding Zytiga per studies showing its effectiveness with ADT at diagnosis for localized high grade cancer (he is Gleason 9). MO also ordered PSMA

Vacation time?
I'm starting year 5. I started in 2018 with PC a surprise finding during an MRI for chronic but low grade low back pain. For past 4 years I've had stable PSA varying from 7 to 11 and back. Treatment is Lupron and Zytiga +Prednisone all at standard quantities. MO considers this level as probably

Starting relugolix / OrgovyxĀ
My healthcare provider indicated they wouldn't prescribe Orgovyx and to use Lupron instead. Has anyone dealt with this? Are there ways to get the meds cheaper from Canada or elsewhere? Any insight would be great. My rationale is that Orgovyx may have fewer side effects, and concerned as I still go

lupron. seems this drug kills testosterone and is supposed to starve cancer cells.. while radiation kills the cancer.. I was reading. Outsmart your cancer by Tanya Pierce.. The medical argument is that testosterone is the evil thing here but really is a lame argument.. As Dr White has said if this

How content should I be with my current treatment š¤·
Yay, I finally expanded my treatment history into a useful document! Just did the update. The dust seems to have settled into my current treatment of Lupron, Abiraterone, and Prednisone. And I have to admit I'm enjoying riding that path quietly for a while. On the other hand I'm still confused about

When ADT fails, we continue it anyway... why not Zytiga?
This question may be more theoretical than practical, but I am curious. We use ADT to lower T and get a PSA response and regression of PC (and get symptom relief). Eventually ADT "fails" and PSA rises. But ADT continues to "succeed" in keeping T low, so we stay on it, since low T continues to be important

Four years of ADT, pros/cons
Four years of Lupron + abiraterone Pros: I'm still alive and castration sensitive, spine met not growing or painful Cons: Zero libido, muscle loss, fat gain, hot flashes, blueberry-size testicles, BP increase, body hair loss... and all the other side effects that many of you are all too familiar with

Lupron or Firmagon after Orgovyx
I am finishing four months of Orgovyx, but have two more months to go in my āsentenceā. Ā I can pay $6000 out of pocket for the last two months. Ā Iāve had only minor side effects and work out regularly. Ā Iāve lost a lot of weight and feel in pretty good shape overall. I have lost some of the fear of

QoL dinner cuz I got shishito peppers š
So, after Lupron shot I went to Trader Joe's, and saw Shishito Peppers. When I was in Spain with #1 son and wife on 5 day Camino Frances, we had pimientos de padron many times, blistered mild peppers. So, in the US you may use shishitos insteadš I made a gambas, mejillones, calamares, y chorizo con

Anybody familiar with this complication of radiation therapy? I've been fighting with my left leg for the past 4 months with increasing loss of function. It started as a nightime drawing of my left leg across my body and has now progressed to paralysis of the quad muscles and I am now having to use

Still here today
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2017. Had my prostate removed in March 2017. PSA was ok for a while but started rising in March 2019. Had 35 radiation treatments April-May 2019. Again PSA was ok for a while but started rising in Spring of 2021. A Pet scan showed a spot on my sternum

Fatherās MO now recommending adding Zytiga
Hi all, my dad is nearly three years from diagnosis of Gleason 9 with evidence of spread to local lymph nodes (see profile). Has had IMRT concurrent with 3 years of lupron. Latest PSA 0.03, <0.02 6 months prior. Original plan from MO was to do Lupron for 3 years which would end 2/23. His recent appointment
