What do these results mean

Hi,

I need your help to understand the following results.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic (throughout my body) PC last Feb with a PSA of 935. I was put on the triple therapy with Lupron, Zytiga and 6 rounds of taxotere.

Today my PSA is 0.03 and I just received the following results from a scan I had end of Dec.

I had an appt with my oncologist last Thursday but at the time these results were not available. She told me to wait for the results which I received yesterday and that she would review them in 4-8 weeks and contact me if there was any negative changes.

So here I am with these results and I have no idea what this medical jargon means and if it show some positive improvement.

Thank you for your help.

Study Result impression:

Decreased conspicuity of right upper lobe lesion which is now entirely groundglass and may be a resolving infectious/inflammatory nodule.

A sclerotic lesion in the T5 vertebral body is also less conspicuous.

Other findings are comparable

CT chest 10/17/2022LUNGS & AIRWAYS: Decreased conspicuity of lesion in the posterior right upper lobe which is now entirely groundglass (4/127). Interval stability of multiple predominately calcified micronodules.

LYMPH NODES & MEDIASTINUM: Scattered nodes in the chest without adenopathy.

PLEURA & PERICARDIUM: Unremarkable.

CARDIOVASCULAR: Minimal aortic calcification.

ESOPHAGUS & NECK: Unremarkable.

UPPER ABDOMEN: CT abdomen reported separately.

BONES & CHEST WALL: Slightly decreased conspicuity of sclerotic lesion in the T5 vertebral body. Comparable sclerosis in the lateral right sixth rib.

Thank you

That's a good report, and an amazing PSA response!

This seems to be just a CT scan - weren't you also given a bone scan?

The tumors in your lungs and spine have shrunk, but the rib lesion has not yet responded. Considering the negligible PSA, the rib lesion may be something else (e.g., a rib broken when you were a child?)

Did you have a lung issue (Flu, Covid, etc.)? The nodules in your lungs and enlarged chest lymph nodes seem to be something other than PCa. If the groundglass nodules in your lungs persist, it should be biopsied.

yes I did crack a rib awhile back.

I have mild emphazima. Would that lead to the issue with the lungs?
