Lupron or Firmagon after Orgovyx

I am finishing four months of Orgovyx, but have two more months to go in my “sentence”.  I can pay $6000 out of pocket for the last two months.  I’ve had only minor side effects and work out regularly.   I’ve lost a lot of weight and feel in pretty good shape overall.

I have lost some of the fear of ADT, since I’ve had an easy time so far.   I’d hoped Orgovyx would let my T recover faster.  My RO is fine giving me one month shots of Lupron or Firmagon.   He thinks they will have minimal effect on recovery.  I could probably pay for the pills, but six grand is six grand.  The Firmagon is an antagonist and the same mode of action as Orgovyx.   That makes me lean toward it as a shot.

Any thoughts on this from others?

I had Lupron and Eligard for primary treatment (radiation) in 2017-2018. BCR in 2022, chose Firmagon this time. Will not take Lupron or Eligard again. Started in Oct '22, side effects much less than the first time around. If forced to switch to Lupron or Eligard, will not accept either.

Having taken both antagonists (Orgovyx and Firmagon) Iwould go with staying with an Antagonist as you know the effects of that route on your body. When I stopped Orgovyx, my T was close to 400 in just 60 days. Just what I had hoped for.
