Update on PSA
Aug 4 - diagnosed PCa, gleason 9 Aug 5 - started casodex Aug 17 - started lupron 3 mth Had my first blood work done yesterday (Oct 5) and PSA is now at 0.56. Was over 9 in June. So, I kind of feel good in knowing that as expected the meds are working and lowering PSA. Meaning I can move forward

Castration resistant in just a year? Normal or not? Provenge in my future.
I'm already "mildly symptomatic castration resistant." PSA tripled in the last 30 days (but still extremely low), after doubling in the prior 3 months. I was diagnosed with stage 4b (mets in multiple bones and nodes) ductal and started ADT 13 months ago. Nubeqa and Docetaxel (Triplet therapy) started

Possible Cure
Hi, I was diagnosed initially 2 years ago as Stage 4 with mets to the bones. Low volume. Gleason 8-9, PSA less than 2 from the onset. I had radiation to the prostate only. After 2 years of Lupron/Zytiga, everything has shrunk or disappeared via PSMA PET. Everything has been good,(but with med

My daughter is going to be put on this drug for uterine fibroids and potential endometriosis for a period of 7 months and then we'll have surgery for hysterectomy. She is very concerned about the side effects of this medication and I'm wondering if anyone on here has had experience using this medication

Feeling very hopeless at this point.
My husband was diagnosed in 2011 at age 52, gleason 8, 11 of 12 cores positive. We went for many many 2nd opinions, surgery or radiation? finally chose radiation as all doctors said it had spread already and would need radiation anyway after surgery. Treated with Snuffy Myers in Virginia until his

right knee replacement
It’s been a slow trip fighting arthritis on top of recurring PCA. Still on a Lupron vacation. Osteopenia cleared up after 21 months with only bicalutamide, T rose to 226, and PSA has stayed less than 0.1. I finally have a new knee! It‘s painful but every night is a bit better than the night before

BCR May Not Be a Strong Surrogate End Point for Prostate Cancer Survival
A new study, below [1] & [2]. In 2004 I came across old studies that showed that ADT promotes changes to the androgen receptor [AR] environment. At diagnosis, the AR is invariably "wild type". When ADT failed, AR gene amplification was common. True mutations were rare. {This was sufficient for

hi everyone, my dad has had MBC since June of 2022. He has been on Ibrance, letrozole, lupron, and xjeva. His Mets were to bone and then he was NED for a year from June 2022 to June 2023. In July he took a PET scan and it showed a slight uptake of activity to his chest wall. Plan was to keep him on

from undetectable to 0.02
I have been undetectable for 3.25 years and today it came back at 0.02. My bio is up to date. We ran the test at the exact same lab as always and in 2 days I am flying back to my Sarasota home from Milwaukee and was wondering which lab is recommended for 2 digit accuracy? I know Labcorp only does 1

how do you get rid of it? I’m almost 4 months! Is it my fault I’m predjudiced against the appearance of non exercise? where is it coming from, Lupron or abiraterone?

Abiraterone SE when added to Lupron?
I am a PSA =2, low volume, oligometastic HSPC. I got my first Lupron shot 4 weeks ago. I started to get a couple hot flashes per day in the last week from the Lupron and of course I expect fatigue to kick in over the next six weeks. What additional side effects might I expect by adding the abiraterone

Now what?
My husband was DX April 2021 MPc, Stage IV, PSA 335, BRACA2. Lupron, Erleada, Provenge, Lynparza (still on), Zytiga/Pred (still on). PSA rose from 2.64 Feb 2023 to 44 Sept 2023. Biggest jumps on the last three months, 10 to 44. He is approved for 177lu, but there are a lot of unsuccessful stories

Whole pelvic radiation after testicular cancer?
My husband is 63, dx Oct/2022 with PSA of ~11 and all twelve cores positive with GL 8 and mostly 9’s (4+5). He had SVI, PNI, and probable ECE, but PSMA PET showed no spread. He’s being treated at UCHealth/Denver CO at their urologic cancer center. His treatment consisted of 39 radiation sessions +

Stopping abiraterone
OK, specific question time here. I've been on Abiraterone+Prednisone for about a year and a half, with a 2 month break around Christmas last year. My Doc says the normal course of Abiraterone is about 18 months, and I think that we're kind of dancing around discontinuing the drug, for me. I know that

Hair regrowth
On Zytiga and Lupron 15 months. Almost total loss of body hair. In last few weeks, hair has started to regrow on arms and legs. Testosterone still depressed. Is there any clinical significance? Probably stupid question.
