BrCA Positive and New to This...
In a nutshell, I will most likely have cancer in my lifetime occurring in my breasts/ovaries, and so measures such as
mastectomy
and oophorectomy are very common). IVF has been recommended to me as a means to 'cut out' the gene and stop it passing on to my children as it is hereditary.

End of treatment
After being diagnosed in Nov 2015, I've been through chemo for 6 months, a
mastectomy
with a free tram reconstruction, delayed healing, 25 sessions of radiotherapy and now I have just two more sessions left. It'll all end on Tuesday next. I'll be on tamoxifin for 5 years, though.

Negative breast cancer
First I was told a
mastectomy
and then the oncologist said no. Chemo followed by lumpectomy once he had strung the tumour. First type of chemos I had were for breast cancer and the did nothing. It was then changed for four more treatments which involved platinum based chemo.

Chemotherapy
My partner had a
mastectomy
early last June. She's due to start chemo next weeks as a "preventive" measure (stage 3). I was wondering if the 6 week wait was too long?

Feet and heel pain during chemo
Hi friends and well wishers, My mom is undergoing chemotherapy followed by
mastectomy
. She has completed 4 cycles with 15 days gap and 1 of the 12 weekly cycles. I wonder why she has to go through so many cycles of chemo; is this normal process? She is experiencing more pain in her heels and legs.

Surgery is behind me
Hi all! I had a cystectomy and prostatectomy (along with assorted other bits a parts), last Tuesday. Surgery took over 10 hours and was all done robotically. I came home yesterday and am learning to live with a "bag". I'm tired and weak, but feel amazingly well--little to no pain or other discomfort

Scans
I had
mastectomy
in Jan after finding a lump of precancer, turned out there were two lumps of advanced cancer stage 2, had an Oncotype test and chemo followed.! They have said I'm borderline as to whether I need to have radiotherapy, but should I have any scans before they decide this.?

Feeling rubbish!
Hello, I had keyhole lap, cystectomy and hystoscopy 3 weeks ago, I was told bladder and bowel are stuck and I will need open surgery. I've been put on a course of 3 months zoladex of which I had the first just over a week ago. I've had spotting now for 2 weeks and since the implant have felt rubbish.

Returning to work
I had a
mastectomy
in March and do not need further treatment. Is it wise to return to my part time clerical job while I still have swelling and stinging under my arm. I am not eligible for SSP due to insufficient contributions and have used my CSP so am now a 'kept' woman.
