Why is a Mastectomy Needed?
My question is if there is no sign of an active tumour at the end of the 6 rounds then why is a
mastectomy
needed? I am 46 yrs old.

Had double
mastectomy
. It’s been 2-yrs since I completed chemo. I ‘m angry, sad, disappointed, hate my body, I gained a lot of weight, don't exercise or eat well anymore. Am fatigued all the time, depressed, on anti-depressants. Was in some support groups, but found unhelpful after chemo.

Nearly a year post chemo
I then had bilateral
mastectomy
and lymph node clearance left axilla. That is all fine. All healed up and no problem. I am continuing on the Herceptin and Pertuzumab every 3 weeks. I never itched at all during chemo! If anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful!

Targeted therapy- New drugs - any good for stomach cancer?
Jimmy, My Dad, was first diagnosed with stage 2 gastric cancer in May 2014, and told it was in-operable. He was treated with EOX chemotherapy for 6 months. This reduced the tumour and enabled the doctors to do a total gastrectomy in Feb 2015. He was cancer free for 18 months, during which time he lost

Reassurance needed about underarm cording ....
I managed the
mastectomy
fine, the chemo, hair loss, nipple removal, you name it, but I'm really struggling with this. It makes me feel horrible and I feel frightened that I won't be able to lift my arm properly because the cords are so tight. Have any of you ladies experienced it?

Vasectomy
Can anyone tell me what would be the changes on the sexual desire after vasectomy? I am keen to know before deciding myself doing one. Your advice and experience would be much appreciated.

Bad anxiety
People tell me I'm lucky as no
mastectomy
or chemo, and on the face of it I'm much better off than others. I find mindfulness and qigong practice very good but my anxiety levels very high in morning. Has any one else had anxiety after taking letrozole? Thanks

How can I support my Mum with breast cancer?
She's going to be treated with chemo, a
mastectomy
and herceptin. At the moment, I'm finding it really difficult to know how to support her. Are there any parents on here that have experienced having cancer - and could you let me know what I could do for my mum that might help?

Preparing for the Most Unexpected Body Change After Breast Cancer
They have a lumpectomy,
mastectomy
or reconstruction and ask: “Am I ever going to get any feeling back… in my armpit? …over the scar? …on the inside of my arm?” They might comment on the lack of feeling, saying, “It doesn’t hurt. It just feels weird.”

Cellulitis, Day 6, any advice?
I have Lymphoedma but in my trunk, breast and arm, following lots of surgery for breast cancer, then finally
mastectomy
but didn't think this would affect my leg (although it is on same side of body this time).

Reflux, oesophagitis and nissen fundoplication surgery
I have had a hiatus hernia for many years and GORD. A gastroscopy three months ago showed Grade C oesophagitis, 6cm sliding hiatus hernia and diverticulosis. I have taken Lanzoprazole (one or two 15mg daily) for about 10 years. Following gall bladder removal last year I also have bouts of bile reflux

Bra Progress!
Last Wednesday at 17 weeks post
mastectomy
, I was able to wear my 'normal', wired pre surgery bra with prosthesis, all day! I had the bra extender on to help with the lymph fluid still below my armpit but the lymph fluid in my upper arm has reduced enough so there was no discomfort!
