Mastectomy

I had a mastectomy, chemo etc and have returned to work .. teaching. . Two years on , where I thought I’d done a good job at keeping on track , keeping fit, I have developed lymphoedema in righ arm. The clinic are unsure if it’s scleroderma linked or post mastectomy ( I did have some nodes taken) .

I even asked to be added to the list for breast scanning as I needed to know I wouldn’t be facing double mastectomy too.

I have had three consecutive major surgeries in 2023 : March spinal, then mastectomy in June and hemicolectomy in September. Directly afterwards in October I had the COVID booster.

My step-daughter had a double Mastectomy for stage 2 E +BC two days ago. Her boyfriend was there with her (far, far away from us) and kept us informed every step of the way. She called herself a little while ago, is home, tired but doing well.

2019 diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer after 20 years from original diagnosis with 6 months chemo and double mastectomy. Responding well to treatment with no progression and remains stable.

I had a bilateral mastectomy with an axillary lymph node dissection. I did chemo after surgery and have been on exemestane since. I did not have radiation. A recent pet scan showed an enlarged axillary lymph node that a biopsy showed as cancer. (apparently the surgeon missed one!)

We are dumbfounded that despite their assurances each time that it could be excised cleanly she now needs radical mastectomy. We are also wanting help with deciding if she should ask for double mastectomy. Any help would be most welcome 🙏

Within under 2 years I've had a broken back, broken sternum, and 3 weeks ago a double mastectomy, and now arthritis of Lower spine, I can't stop and am making everything worse, fibromyalgia, originally diagnosed . So lonely and in pain.

My oncologist and I decided it was time for surgery, I had a double mastectomy in January and then 33 days of radiation, my radiation ended May 16 and since then my neutrophils have been low. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this? Never had a problem until now.

Our youngest daughter (really husband's daughter, grown up when we married and very close to both of us) had a double mastectomy for early BC today. She's moved to a different (much warmer!) part of the country.

And lastly due to my bc treatment mastectomy, radiotherapy & reconstruction I have had leftside pain from the ribs/muscles being disturbed - probably from all the scar tissue etc from my previous bc treatment.
