Mastectomy on avastin
Hi guys, I am brca 1 and have decided to have a bilateral
mastectomy
as prevention to ever getting breast cancer. I am on avastin only after my chemo for oc stage 3c. I have just read that while on avastin the healing process takes longer.

Metastatic Breast Cancer Survivor
I had a lumpectomy and then 3 weeks later had a right
mastectomy
with no lymph node involvement in 1994. At that time I did have reconstruction, which was painful. At that time I thought I will be good if it doesn't go into my left breast. It never has although there were a few scares.

Getting Naked with Strangers after a Mastectomy
Thanks for all of the positive feedback about the articles I've posted so far. Here's another, about how I was able to get naked with strangers again (in a Korean spa...one of my fave indulgences before breast cancer). The answer: with a little help from my friends. It was first published in Ravishly

Tattoo Me
Here's another one of my BC articles, this one about why I decided to tattoo my
mastectomy
scar instead of getting an implant. It was first published on Better After 50, then picked up by Ravishly. http://betterafter50.com/2015/01/why-i-decided-to-tattoo-my-breast-cancer-scar/

Here I am again !
So, I had a
mastectomy
and am recovering well. Of course I had to stop my Enbrel injections a couple of weeks before my operation and was on no rheumatoid meds for a total 3 months.

BRCA diagnosis questions
I'm BRCA1positive and had a triple negative diagnosis. 10+ years later, after chemo, a bi-lateral
mastectomy
and an oopherctomy I'm fortunately doing fine. I was 46 at time of diagnosis. If I can help you, shoot me an email.

Vasectomy
I would b interested to hear any informed views / experiences on having a vasectomy when diagnosed with itp. Itp has know been managed successfully for 2 years without meditation. Still get some small signs of purpura. Interested to hear if this procedure is a big no no, issues around and potential effects

Hi
I am a survivor of breast cancer in my 40s, when I had lots of chemo and radio therapy to left side of chest and clavicle nodes, plus
mastectomy
and left side axilla clearance, so I'm not sure if problems relate to longer term damage from treatment.

Metastatic and moving forward
Hi, I am Denni. I am a 66 year old female metastatic breast cancer #lifer #thrivor. I currently reside in Angels Camp, CA. I was diagnosed in December of 1995 with Stage III cancer in my right breast. My mother died from breast cancer when I was 13 and she was 54, so I chose to have bilateral mastectomies

Biopsy results
I had a full gastrectomy on July 13th at St James hospital Leeds . My journey has been relatively easy compared to some of the things I have read on this site that others have suffered . I have always tried very hard to keep a positive attitude which has been knocked at times but thanks to this site
