Thank you
For over twenty years I have suffered with
malabsorption
following a number of surgeries to remove diseased bowel (I have Crohn's Disease). The last time I had my bowel resected one of the surgical team told me that I would need B12 supplements but nothing ever came of it for some years.

Liver Diagnosis - Does Any of This Sound Familiar?
Thyroid medication is being changed from Synthroid to Tirosint since I’m having
malabsorption
issues. My Gastro doctors refuses to admit that this has anything to do with my liver condition worsening and went as far to say the liver doesn’t generate pain.

Pancreas causing B12 deficiency?
I was referred with suspected
malabsorption
issues including B12 deficiency and bowel trouble. Colonoscopy and biopsies were fine. Urine test was fine. CT scan was fine. Endoscopy showed gastritis, oesephagitis and a hiatus hernia. Omezaprole was prescribed for two months. That course has finished.

Paper discussing malabsorption of T4 under therapy
This paper describes the situation of
malabsorption
of T4 and criteria for detecting it. Unfortunately, as is the current US position they still use TSH as the infallible marker for the problem, from the point of view of it having to be in the reference range .

Too much B12 feeding bad bacteria in gut ?!?
I am at a loss here as there so little scientifically known about digestive issues/
malabsorption
(which I was diagnosed with but still figuring out the root cause -I'm already gluten free and antihistamines give me some relief). Thanks as always for your input!

Bile acid malabsorption
I was diagnosed with bile acid
malabsorption
last year and was prescribed colesevelam tablets. At first they were fine but then gave me really bad stomach pains which radiated through to my back.

Treatment With Intramuscular Levothyroxine in Refractory Hypothyroidism
In the majority of cases, the lack of effectiveness by this way may be due to poor adherence; however, gastrointestinal
malabsorption
may explain more cases of thyroxine refractoriness than previously reputed, due to the number of occult forms of these disorders.

Blood tests ordered by new GI-dr (of which IF and Parietal Antibodies but can't figure out the rest
Hi, As I wrote in a previous post I finally after decades of suffering met with a new gastroenterologist who based on my blood results of the past 6 years came up with
malabsorption
herself without me telling her I've been supplementing due to obvious absorption issues going on.

I was referred to a gastroenterologist by the gp for suspected
malabsorption
issues due to recent changes in my bowel activity and some bowel issues that I had over a few years that i suspected to be ibs caused by anxiety. Endoscope revealed hiatus hernia, oesphagitis and gastritis.

Can't believe it!- new gastro finally ordered IF and parietal antibodies without me even mentioning B12 - after countless years of suffering
She was particularly shocked about my tests done here a year ago and that my
malabsorption
wasn't pointed out to me and instead was given a wrong diagnosis of Lupus.

Gastroenterologist
I have some bowel issues which my gp thought might be an indication of
malabsorption
. These may or may not be connected to the b12 deficiency. I brought that up and listed those symptoms as well. There wasnt much discussion but he said I should have a CT scan and a camera in to have a look.

Omezaprole or not?
The GP thought they might be connected to
malabsorption
. I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy at the weekend. Colonoscopy seemed fine, biopsies were taken. Gastroscopy showed hiatus hernia, oesophagitis and gastritis. Biopsies were also taken.

Levothyroxine Tablet Malabsorption Associated with Gastroparesis Corrected with Gelatin Capsule Formulation
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experience relating to poor absorption of Levo. I'm convinced I have gastroparesis and am pushing my GP for a referall for a gastric emptying study to check for this. Just wondering how common this is: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4884855/

Cholestyramine (Questran) for Bile Acid Malabsorption
I am having difficulty obtaining Questran or Questran Light to treat sever bile acid
malabsorption
. My pharmacy says it’s currently out of stock (which it often is) but now they are saying it’s not likely to be available until April 2020.
