No phase one trial for me at the moment
My bile acid
malabsorption
flagged up again so the DDU are worried that I may not absorb the oral treatment properly. I had an appointment at The Marsden Fulham earlier this week to see the gastro Dr regarding this - just waiting for blood results now.

I have Bile Acid Malabsorption, would this be anything to do with needing 3 monthly B12 injections and Vitamin B compound tablets daily?

Raised meds but not much improvement
I'm still struggling to keep weight on (but am coeliac with bile salt
malabsorption
too so I'm assuming that's the culprit here). Doc is calling me back tomorrow - I assume to discuss putting up meds again. Anything else I should ask him (other than t4/t3 info)?

Stool test
I was thinking some sort of bacteria imbalance could be determined or
malabsorption
by getting that and I have different doctor now so wondering if worthwhile asking again before thinking of treating myself for the sibo with low food map diet etc Thanks.

The consultant mentioned the word ‘

I've had a positive fructose breath test. Does anyone have any tips or resources on handling it? I find it hard to know what I can eat
I don't know if this is a SIBO thing or fructose
malabsorption
. I get really uncomfortable wind and pain.

Constant burning in throat and severe nausea-- miserable!
Currently I am diagnosed with GERD and Fructose
Malabsorption
. PPIs seem to help with “regular” heartburn which I would get after eating a meal, but the burning in my throat is something different.

my serum B12 level (XE2pf) 1052ng/l (>180.0) B12/folate level (XalqS) says Low Folate please treat with folic acid, consider alcohol intake, poor diet, or

as cause.

SeHCAT test
For those of you who know my situation and for those who don't I've been recommended to have a seHCAT test for
malabsorption
for frequent pale BM, urgency and lots of clear bile accompanying BM or sometimes alone.

Bile Acid Malabsorption - SeHcat scan
Hi all, I'm due to have a SeHcat scan this week, to rule out Bile Acid
Malabsorption
for my symptoms. I read that it's equivalent to 2 months' background radiation - which is a lot!

SeHCAT Test
I mentioned my SeHCAT test for Bile Acid

regrading that I wasn't sure of the results. He told me that my bile salts aren't absorbing properly but could't tell me much more. Any advice? aside from 'googling it' which I will...

RLS & SIBO - possible link. Stanford Study
As gut inflammation can cause
malabsorption
of Iron, and iron deficiency is linked to RLS, this looks very interesting.

Bile Acid Malabsorption
Hi, is there anyone here that has been diagnosed with bile acid
malabsorption
? As I have kind of burning acid diarrhea as I would call it and have to go frequently. Just wondering if it's worth going to the gp to check out.

Cholestagel stock problems
Hi I believe I suffer from Bile Acid
Malabsorption
. For 8 years I’ve suffered from constant diarrhoea as many as 6 times a day, unable to eat out unless a toilet was at hand. Always told by my GP that I had IBS. After seeing tabloid article about BAM I asked my GP if I could try Questran.

Not convinced my ‘diarrhoea attacks’ are IBS. Any ideas?
I have read up on things like leaky gut, bile acid
malabsorption
etc and I am convinced that IBS may not be my issue. I rarely meet people who have the same symptoms as me. For further context, it’s like my body cannot digest properly. When I am ill, I can see whole food in it (sorry!)

Digestion Issues
Major issue I have been experiencing for the last few years was fat
malabsorption
- if I eat a lot of it, I have cramps the next day because it comes out the other end. This week was horrible, I cannot eat anything without stomach burning, bloating, gnawing, stabbing, feeling heavy like a rock.

GRAVES AND THYROTOXICOSIS : GASTROINTESTINAL FINDINGS
Indeed, the pattern of weight loss with increased appetite is nearly pathognomonic of thyrotoxicosis, although it may occur in diabetes mellitus and
malabsorption
or intestinal parasitism. A minority of patients complain of anorexia.

Eating fats and diarrhoea. Is there a link here? Bile salt malabsorption?
I've brought up bile salt
malabsorption
to my GP and hes referred me to a gastro but can take 33weeks! Do they offer medication trials for the binders on NHS? At first I didn't think it was bsm because my diarrhoea was only once a week, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.
