Paper discussing malabsorption of T4 under therapy

This paper describes the situation of malabsorption of T4 and criteria for detecting it. Unfortunately, as is the current US position they still use TSH as the infallible marker for the problem, from the point of view of it having to be in the reference range . Again all relevant parameters eg FT3,FT4 and TSH should have used to solve the problem. The paper is downloadable for a short time:

Thank You Diogenes for being ahead of the curve . I'm questioning why the studies preformed where via TSH? Shouldn't it have been via FT4 FT3 for a more accurate study if T4 is well metabolized ?
