Hello everyone. I was referred to the gastro back in February but was told recently that the waiting list is about 14months long so there's a possibility, I will not be seen till next year. After working with a dietitian, we both agree that my problems could be malabsorption so I would really like to have a SeHcat scan to see if this is the case. Has anyone privately paid for a Sehcat scan within a hospital, if so how did you go about doing this?
Many Thanks

I saw a gastri consultant a coupl of weeks ago. He prescribed colestramine with out a scan. He was sure it BAM as was I. Within days I have been free of IBSD for the first time in 14 years Ask your GP to Prescribe or see. Consultant privately. Will be cheaper and quicker than a scan good luck.
I managed to my self rather than you. I saw a consultant gastric a few weeks ago. He prescribed Colestramine for BAM without a scan. It’s workin great. Got my life back. ask your GP or see a consultant privately. Will be cheaper than a scan Good luck.
i saw a gastroenterologist a few weeks ago and he diagnosed BAM without a scan. I take 2 sachets of Colestramine daily and it’s sorted me out. Don’t wait for a scan. Ask your GP to prescribe it or see a gastroenterologist privately if you have to. Hope it helps. I’ve suffered for 15 years up to now and I feel I have my life back.
My doctor doesn’t seem to want to prescribe me anything. However, my dietitian wants to prescribe me something called creon. I've done a feacal elastase test just waiting for the results.
