Any experiences to share regarding experience and side effects? Chemo has been stopped and waiting for GK treatment to get a little pest under control that’s pressing on a nerve. Currently popping steroids daily to reduce swelling, and I must say the energy I get is on another level. Probs why I’m

Chemotherapy
I heard someone say that the drug companies still consider it a success if the Chemotherapy kills the cancer even if the patient dies from the treatment. Is there any truth to this? Thank you

Decision time!
After finding out I had progression to my liver in July and acute side effects to Everolimus after only 6 weeks, I have been advised there is further progression to my liver. So I now face the dilemma of no treatment and at best 6 months, or choice of chemo. My oncologist has given me 3 options, oral

I’m five years Post surgery including removal of prostate & lymph nodes. Gleason 8 with Intraductal. Sepsis, DVT/PE after surgery which left me with chronic fatigue, brain fog and bad overactive bladder with incontinence. Four years post stereotactic radiotherapy to the left iliac area following a PSMA

Docataxel
My MO is advising Chemotherapy since I am Mcrp. . The MO said that no Adt will work . I have been reading that most people take Adt along with Docataxcel. I would love to prolong my life. I have concerns about QOL and what are the percentages of this treatment working with and without ADT? Thank

COVID-19 Infection effect on Urinary Incontinence and Mirabegron.
Dear Simon Foundation, I'm an old member of HU as a CLL type Leukaemia patient in the UK, but only just discovered your Simon foundation. Now I've always had poor bladder control and that could be due to bladder sensitivity, BPH, or damaged nerves in my lower back or all three, or more. I've gone through

chemotherapy followed by maintenance avastin
I am getting carbo/taxol and my CA125 is 114. After 6 cycles the doctor wants to start avastin as maintenance. I am afraid that stopping the chemo and having only avastin won't keep the CA 125 down. Has anyone received maintenance avastin having a high CA125? Did it keep the CA125 at the same level

PALB2 genetic defect-Lynparza
I have PALB2 genetic defect. Just completed six cycles of Taxotere as part of triple therapy (chemo, Nubeqa and ADT) for about 20 Mets (PSMA scan) mostly skeletal (no organs). Only four Mets still lit up on PSMA scan after four cycles of chemo/Lupron/Nubeqa. Next PSMA scan in Jan. 2024. Oncologist recommends

Eyebrows - what did you do for yours? (Vanity post)
Hi, wondering about your eyebrow journeys for anyone who lost some or all of yours while on chemo or other drugs? I’m 2 and a half weeks in from my first chemo treatment, and my hair started coming out in huge bunches a few days ago, so some family came over yesterday and took care of that - I’m fully

immunotherapy damaging kidneys
hi My mother has been having successful treatment for stage 3 lung cancer, but the immunotherapy has negatively affected her kidneys, so she is having steroids and they have said they cannot continue to offer the immunotherapy. We are awaiting a scan appointment & they may then discuss radiotherapy,

Have you had chemo via cannula?

Latest PSA! Undetectable
My latest (11/8) PSA was <0.1 ng/mL. This is my third in a row that was undetectable since finishing chemotherapy and radiation. All of my other labs look excellent and my Hemoglobin A1c was 5.4% Consistent exercise has contributed to that greatly and also how well I’m feeling I am feeling

PSA & T is up
We started this journey in June 2022 and hit this PC with triple therapy to stop the cancer that had already attacked his whole skeleton. My husband has now developed a cancerous tumor in his head in the sinus cavity and behind his eye which has caused him double vision and pain. It’s wrapped around

Treatment options
Hi- I have posted a few times about my brother who was diagnosed in March 2021. For 18 months he did really well on Abiterone. His PSA went from his initial diagnosis of 52 to under 0.03 for several months. He has Kaiser HMO and unfortunately his oncologist retired at the time his PSA starting trending
