AUGMENTATION
I have been on Madopar 13-14 years, admittedly I have been reducing down to a ¼ of my original dosage. I also take Sifrol (Mirapex) and have been taking it for approx 6/7 years. Is augmentation a forgone conclusion? I mean, is it inevitable that I am going to get it?

BIPOLAR DIAGNOSIS
Hi people's, how are you all going? I hope you're feeling better than you were last week. So a lot has happened to me since I last addressed this group. Last week I ran out of two of my important meds ... Madopar and Clonazepam. As I had sold my car I had no way of getting to the pharmacy to replace

Parkinsons, swollen ankles.
I am new to HealthUnlocked. I take Madopar 150mg six times per day plus a 24 hour 6mg Rotigotine Patch. The patch has been reduced from 10mg to 6mg as it caused my ankles to swell. Agonists do not agree with me. I would like to come off the patch completely. My ankles are not as swollen but my tremor

Macuna's effect on rigidity?
Five months ago I swapped 2 of the 4 x 50mg madopar capsules I take each day for 2 x DopaBean macuna which contains 50 mg of l-dopa per capsule. I expected at best not to notice any difference. My Bowen therapist, who has worked on my soft tissue and muscles for the last four years, did however notice

All natural
We can take mucuna pluriens instead Sinemet or Madopar. I wonder, is there any natural supplement that could substitute Neupro patches (rotigotine) or Xadago (safinamide)? Thanks to all

Madopar
Does anyone take Madopar dispersible 50mg/12.5mg tablets. I have recently started these and am interested in how effective other people find them.

Professional nutritional support for PWP in the UK
I am looking for a knowledgeable nutritionist, ideally in London, able to provide individualized advice on good nutrition e.g. for slowing progression, correcting weight loss, supporting intense exercise and solving interaction problems with Parkinsons's meds. Any recommendations? New'ish on this site

Underwhelmed by Madopar
Hi gang. Is this drug meant to work instantly with ones symptoms or do you need few weeks and aggregate an amount in your system? I’m very surprised at how little difference it makes to my symptoms considering it’s the gold standard etc. I certainly had my honeymoon period with both Azilect and Requip

Amantidine for PSP tremors
Hi everyone Thought I would share some good news. this may not work for everyone but here goes. Geoff had bad tremors in legs and arms. He was on Madopar, (used in Parkinsons), without affect. He has recently been trialed on Amantidine, starting at 100mg in the morning, increasing to 100mg morning and

Levodopa Medications and Vitamin B6
Introduction
Vitamin B6 is a cofactor in over 100 enzymatic reactions. In the process it is converted from the active form, principally P5P (pyridoxal-5-phosphate), to the inactive form, pyridoxine. An excess of pyridoxine is toxic because it occupies sites that require the active form. For this

On and Off periods.??
I was diagnosed over 4 years ago with P D, I see the neurologist less than every 6 months, sometimes having to telephone for next appointment because I haven’t received one. I have never seen a Parkinson’s nurse, originally as she was on Maternity Leave , I finally got one for this October then in Sept

Chocking when taking Madopar
Hi, My mum is struggling taking her medicine. We have tried putting in water but that doesn’t help. It’s partly due to the medicine. And partly the amount of saliva. Any tips greatly appreciated Thanks Martin

Husband can't walk at all.
My husband had ankle degeneration from ultra-distance marathon running and had to walk with a stick. It recently became apparent he also has Parkinson's. Now he cannot walk or even stand with his walking frame. He's on Madopar. Will I be able to get him walking again? Even seated exercises for Parkinson's

Is this an usual symptom?
I wrote about this about a year ago and didn't hear much from the community but I'm still slightly quizzical over some thing that is increasing for me yet classically isn't declared as being one the symptoms of PD. I have been on azilect and reuip and have now added a small does of Madopar to the mix

Pd, prostate and back
Finally, anyone have experience with
Madopar
CR
? The parkinsons specialist reckons this will give me more time at night (currently using Toviaz) but I've noticed I've started freezing a lot and wonder if this could be due to Madopar??Many many thanks for replies
