Madopar

This happens every time I take madopar Immediate Release, which is seven times a day. I also experience chest tightness which really scares me. I was wondering if there are other people who live with PD and have experienced similar challenges.

it won't go away with increased madopar dose. I am not sure my muscle spasm/ dystonia is caused by levodopa itself or amandatine. anyone has experience?

Started off with neupro patches but over the years mainly ropinerole, stalevo , madopar and at night rivotril. I’ve recently heard one of the neurologist mentioning Parkin when he was looking through My file….what is the difference THANKYOU KIND REGARDS

On Madopar for Parkinson's and it helps my RLS. Currently just on a low dose, but without it the RLS would be unbearable. I read about augmentation but what do I do as I have Parkinson's?

I currently take 8 capsules of 50mg/12.5mg madopar. I have previously been told by my old Parkinson’s nurse that this was a low dose leaving room to increase it when required but have now been told that this is a high dose by a different Parkinson’s nurse. And they don’t want to increase it.

I actually take madopar 125 mg at 08am /11am / 2pm / 5pm / 8pm / 11pm / 3am Thanks Marc

She says the only thing that helps is madopar and she takes that at night. But sometimes she takes one earlier and one later at night. It knocks her out just enough to sleep 2 to 4 hours. She says she has been bad for days.

After three years of fighting PD with exercise I am starting Madopar, wish me luck I will keep exercising 🏄

Do antibiotics disable the effectiveness of madopar? Since i started antibiotics a couple of days ago, I've been shakier, stiffer in neck and more anxious.

I'm on daily madopar 100mg, 3 times and day and 6mg neupro. Could this be meds even though I've been fine for 9 months or is this a sign of progression? I read that gastroparesis is common in PD but not seen lots discussed about it. All feedback and thoughts appreciated :)

My PWP suffers at times with severe anxiety and fear that seems to interfere with the efficacy of her madopar doses (175mg 5 times a day). She's off more than on at present.

My mother has huge side effects from Madopar (LevoDopa), since almost a year she becomes psychotic when she takes it. In combination with the dyskinesia which she already has increasingly since a few years, this is a really horrible combination.

I also develop dystonia which disappears when the Madopar wears off. Things only start to improve after 60 min, but usually after approximately 90 minutes (half life of the Madopar). Would be grateful for any comments or suggestions you might have.

Can I take HDT (500mg) at exactly the same time with my regular Madopar dose (100mg/25mg), without fear of interference which may result in the loss of effectiveness of both or either of them? Also is it relevant if HDT is taken on an empty stomach?

When it was prescribed to me I was not made aware that I would have to reduce the total dose of Madopar I was taking. Being so potent and long-lasting led to the overdosing events.

According to her records she takes these meds: duxet 30mg, epobel 10000 1.0ml, benexol b12, madopar 125mg, pexola 1mg, gavidcon liquid, d-colefor 20000 i.u., neurontin 800mg.

I was wondering if there are members of this forum who have been on large doses Levodopa - Madopar or Sinemet only - up to 1100 mg per 24h, for 5+ years.I would be grateful if you could comment on your present quality of life, and do you think that things could improve if other medications are added

Hi there My husband was 80 last week also diagnosed with Psp after an initial diagnosis of Parkinson’s He is Madopar four times a day plus to Amantandine the medication has helped a lot with his tremor His mobility is very poor, he had another fall today.
