low, medium or high dosage of madopar?

I currently take 8 capsules of 50mg/12.5mg madopar. I have previously been told by my old Parkinson’s nurse that this was a low dose leaving room to increase it when required but have now been told that this is a high dose by a different Parkinson’s nurse. And they don’t want to increase it. Is it considered a high dose?

That is a relatively low dose. If you are finding that you need more, an MAO-b inhibitor or COMT inhibitor can help smooth out fluctuations and increase your effective dose.

Not a high dose. I u said 8 X 100/25mg then that would be a high dose

it’s a relativ low dose. I took 3/4 Tablet 100/25 three times a day for 4 years plus Rasagilin and Pramipexol. Now I have increased the dose : in the morning and evening 1 and middday 1 and a quarter. I try to hold it down.

I take 1 tabs of 125/25 three tomes a day. i have kept it that level for the past 2 yaers. I also take dopa mucuna with it 2 capules. i have had no adverse side effects.

Bonjour ce n'est pas une dose importante, Je suis diagnostiquée depuis 7 ans, Et depuis un mois je prends un Modopar 250 ,4 fois par jour. Plus 2 amantadine pour les diskinesies . Mon neurologue dit qu'on peut aller jusqu'à 1 gr ,1,2 gr de l dopa J ai lu "The new Parkinson 's disease treatment book " de J Éric Ahlskog , Ça m'a beaucoup aidé à déterminer la dose minimale nécessaire et suffisante dont j'avais besoin . Mon neurologue m'a confirmé qu'il préférait sous doser par peur des diskinesies .

Pour l instant je vais beaucoup mieux
