My husband, Rick 66 y, has refractory DLBC Lymphoma. He has had front line and salvage chemos: RCHOP, RICE, GEMOX, HC-VAD, Rituxan/Revlimid.
These chemos have kept the cancer at bay but none have been successful with remission or PR. Rick has just started Treanda/Rituxan. After a week enlarged nodes in armpit and groin areas are shrinking. Severe lymphodema in arm and leg is going down rapidly. Would welcome comments, feedback and experiences

Will this DNA checking technology enable us to kill cancerous cells while leaving healthy cells untouched?
We've heard of FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) testing, where fluorescent probes are used to identify whether we have previously identified faulty (mutated) DNA sequences that are most likely responsible for us developing CLL. We also know that FISH prognostic testing can give us an indication

Dr Sharman on Relapsed Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DBLC)
Dr Sharman's latest blog looks at how R-CHOP became established as the most commonly used standard of care for DBLC (i.e. how patients fared better when rituximab was added to the existing CHOP therapy) and what options are available for relapsed DBLC patients. While not specifically relevant to CLL

MYC survival protein a potential new target for many cancers including many leukaemias and lymphomas
Up to 70 per cent of human cancers, including many leukaemias and
lymphomas
, have unusually high levels of MYC, which causes cancerous changes in cells by forcing them into abnormally rapid growth.

can non hodgkins lymphoma be diagnosed with blood tests and scans (ct,mri, or ultra sound scan)?
I have had all these scans, awaiting the outcome of the last one. I have swellings on my kneck, upper chest and the inside of my right knee. My mother died from hodgkins disease when she was 58yrs, I would be grateful for any feedback. many thanks

Bone Marrow Biopsy for the Initial Staging of Patients With Lymphoma: Too Soon to Toss the Trephine
Those of us that would prefer avoiding Bone Marrow Biopsies (BMBs) and the pain associated with having the trephine (the surgical instrument used to cut out a bone sample) shoved into our hip, will not be encouraged by what's been reported on the Cancer Networks site. Does anyone have first hand experience concerning non-hodgkinson's lymphoma?
I have been diagnosed with Scleroderma and have an appointment with my Rheumatologist next week. As a prelude, I have been reading over the last report he sent to my GP. In the letter he mentions IV Cylophosamide and says this should be considered. Of course, its all Serbo-Croat to me, I find it strange

Don't get Fazed by Phases
With the information from the current American Society of Hematology (ASH) 2013 beginning to flood out, we'll be reading of findings in different trial phases. Your decision on whether to join a treatment trial may well be influenced by the phase of the trial, so it is well worth understanding what

my wife can't concentrate, watch tv or read after Chemo therapy. Is this the chemotherapy or the cancer.
My wife has stage four Pancreatic cancer. The oncologist said we can't stop the cancer but we might slow it down. The dose was strong but after two and a half sessions the Dr decided to stop the treatment due to all the bad effects from the chemo, it knocked the hell out of her. The doctor said it was

How to get on to ESA support group after passing tribunal and being put on WRG. We were late reapplying so have to start new application.
My husband has M.E severe anxiety,is recovering from chemo for Large B cell Lymphoma and also has an alcohol problem which has been exacerbated by losing his benefit which is means tested and takes my money and earnings into account. We have savings which I rely on to boost our joint income to £10000

Volunteers required for CLL research interviews of relapsed and refractory UK members.
Are you able to take part in a study on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) and Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL). Thanks to your help the research company have reached their quota for 'watchful waiting' patients (not currently on treatment). The researchers are now looking to schedule patients whose condition

Any relation with having APS and high creatinine levels?
Hi all, I've got APS and had two blood tests in the past month that have come back with high creatinine levels. No history of kidney disease in my family. I keep well hydrated, I'm active etc. I take warfarin and beta blockers. Anybody know if there is any link with APS that could cause high creatinine
