Rituximab question
Hi everyone. Have the appointment for my first and second dose of rituximab come through today for 9th and 23rd of December. 2 days before my birthday and two days before Christmas. Just wanted to know if the medicine can wipe you out after infusion and if anyone has experienced this, worried I will

Chemotherapy and placebos to control nausea

Unfortunately, we may never be able to answer this question because the biggest obstacle to finding out whether it would work is emotional rather than scientific

The Koyal Group Info Mag - Prototype Paper Test Can Detect Ebola Strains
DNA-programmed blotting paper could soon be giving doctors a simple disease test that will reveal an infection in 30 minutes for just a few pence. Researchers have proved the technique works by developing a prototype Ebola test in just 12 hours, and using just $20 of materials. The smart diagnostics

Expert discussions about Lymphoma that relate to CLL/SLL
The doctors also discuss the crossover betweenCLL and indolent
lymphomas
. So you might find this of interest and encouraging (except the cost of new drugs!). Your physician might have interest too since many CLL docs treat lymphoma too.

Nutraceuticals are often big on promise but fail to deliver
Nial Wheate, Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at University of Sydney, Australia writes an interesting and informative article on what's been observed in the study of nutraceuticals (foods that provide health or medical benefits), arguing that their promise doesn’t always hold up: http://

Richters Biopsy Update
Hi everyone, just thought I would post an update on my axillary node biopsy. The results showed that there was no evidence of RT in my lymph node. This good news was quickly followed by a warning that just because it didnt show up in the axillary node it didnt mean that that the richters hadnt returned

TNBC and recurrence
I am 47 and have undergone MRM for TNBC grade 3 stage 2A node negative a year back. I had 4 Epirubicin + 4 Paclitaxel chemo cycles. A PET scan at the time of surgery had not revealed any metastases. With TNBC, the sceptre of recurrence always looms large. A few studies about aspirin, taurine and turmeric

Nanotech Methods May Be the Future of Cancer Treatment
At Rice University they are blowing up cancer cells with nanoparticle "bombs." Like integrative immunotherapy, the new cancer-fighting technique kills cancer cells without harming surrounding healthy cells. Experimental trials have been so successful in destroying aggressive and resistant cancer cells
