Hi everybody, haven't been on here for a while because I'm busy looking after my mother who lives 60 miles away.quite a journey two or three times per week. Anyway I've been on tinzaparin injections for two months now and wondered how long I can stay on this drug. I don't particularly fancy going onto warfarin.

Hi, sorry to hear about mum, this is a question you need to bring up with your consultant, they will certainly weigh up the best option for you, and how you are doing on it, further to that I can't really comment, do let us know what they say. MaryF

Yes thanks Mary for I'll let you know, my appointment is coming up soon.migraines have improved a lot, although still get headaches but I think that's probably the stress of travelling and sorting out mother.

Hi Elfie

I was on Warfarin but my migraines returned, so Prof Hughes put me on Fragmin (Dalteparin) injections and I'm now on them for life.

Hi Dave. Thanks for answering sorry I'm late with a reply, just too tired last night. Can I just ask, are you on a prophylactic dose? What happens if you need to alter the dose because of headaches? I'm not sure whether I'm on the right dose yet, although the migraines are better I can feel quite unwell in the mornings with nausea and a bit wolleyheaded. Thanks elfie.

Hi Elfie.

No, I'm on a therapeutic dose based on body weight.
