very high blood pressure
I have had and AV node ablation and a PVI in an effort to control my AF . I was given sotalol and it seems to agree with me. I am usually sensitive to most drugs. Unfortunately although it is said that it makes the BP plunge the opposite has happened to me. I do take a diuretic - indapamide, but since

‘Phantom ovary pain’ when you’ve had them both removed?
Hi all, 13 weeks post-total hysterectomy and bi-lateral oophorectomy here and generally, all is well thank goodness. However, I’ve started to get what I can only describe as ‘ovulation’ pain on and off in the area where my ovaries used to be! Obviously I can’t be getting ready for a period with none

Despite an AV node ablation and A PVI I have gone back into AF.. My EP has said that he will offer me a last procedure in an effort to curb the breathlessness that I get from AF. Hysterectomy and oophorectomy
Hi, Would like to hear anyone's experience of hysterectomy and oophorectomy, as my surgeon is suggesting it for me. I have a frozen pelvis/ bowel endo. I'm very worried about going into sudden full blown menopause, as my hormonal imbalance is horrible enough as it is! I'm not sure if it would be a case

Reflections on Patient’s Day, Birmingham, 2019, a very personal overview.
Warning:- some material contains a portion of personal ranting on outdated NHS protocols so some readers may need to look away at that point. I thought a post may help me to digest the day if I posted a short(ish?) impression for those who may be thinking of attending future events or of what goes on

Referral consultant operating on bowel/ureter and possible left ovary removal... Should I be concerned?
I am currently on the waiting list for my first laparoscopy following diagnosis of endometriosos via MRI. The gynaecological consultant has an interest in endometriosis. Her clinic is described as a 'one stop shop'. She attempts to treat issues quickly and with minimally invasive options. I appreciate

AV Node Ablation with pacemaker
Scheduled for AV Node Ablation in November. I'm concerned that I will be missing an opportunity for better treatment if i have this ablation. There seems to be more negative information than positive except from the medical doctors. I have had two ablations for A Fib and two ablations for A Flutter.

IBS after gallbladder removal
Are there any IBS sufferers on here who have also had their gallbladder removed due to gallstones? Have your IBS symptoms improved since surgery? I'm 9 weeks post op now. For a few weeks I was free of IBS symptoms and was hopeful that removing my gallbladder had been helpful. But lately all the bloating

Really good on Saturday felt top of the world Sunday night violent sickness but thought was a present from grandchildren Monday morning wife said you’re yellow again. Looks like another stone lodged in bile duct causing an infection This will delay again gallbladder removal again! Thinking 5 or 6

Recovery after polyp removal and D and C?
Hi everyone, just looking for some advice please. I had a hysteroscopy last Friday and D and C where they removed a polyp also under GA. A kyleena coil was inserted also. This was agreed in advance to help with very heavy and painful periods with a lot of midcycle pelvic pain. I was expecting a diagnosis

Has anyone had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy due to PMDD after a thyroidectomy?, I really need to know how it went.
Hello, I am really tired of suffering for many years (I am 47 years old) of premenstrual dysphoric syndrome and I have noticed that it has worsened since I had my thyroidectomy, I am really desperate, I have no quality of life. My Gyno recommended surgery because I also have a cyst in each ovary. I

Inflamed Gallbladder
Hi all - I know quite a few of you have had surgery to remove your gallbladder. I suffer from cholecystitis, which is chronic inflammation of the gallbladder. When I have a flare-up the pain is horrendous. I've been debating the pros and cons of surgery and, after a particularly painful attack last
