Yes - but very little: [11] (1995) Giovannucci's study that began the lycopene industry. Most seemed to ignore the reference to strawberries. Rich in fisetin. Pomegranate studies look interesting, but whole pomegranates aren't likely to show up in epidemiological or intervention studies.

The Giovannucci study that started the lycopene industry identified four foods that were PCa-protective.  Three contained tomatoes; the fourth was strawberries.  The protection was likely due to fisetin.  

(I take selenium and lycopene for that aspect), and put me on statins based on a reading of cholesterol some time ago of 5.2. Said it reduces my stroke risk by 21 percent. I said about side effects and bad press and she said try it and see. I asked if she would take them and was told yes.

Lycopene is found in tomatoes.

Tomatoes Vitamin C is the main ingredient in tomatoes along with lycopene. The Vitamin C in tomatoes helps in easy absorption of iron. Tomatoes are also rich in beta carotene and Vitamins E and hence help in natural conditioning of the hair and skin.

Guava has more lycopene than any other fruit or vegetable at a similar serving size. Lycopene is a carotenoid plant protein and powerful antioxidant that may help prevent prostate cancer and breast cancer P.S.

I have absorption issues from coeliac and achlorydia, so despite taking supps for years still have deficiencies and osteopenia as a result. I already take so many things, i'm looking for 1 high quality tab that contains all the above as these are specifically needed to help reduce further bone density

Hi, This is a strange question but does anyone know why taking a low dose of Lycopene would suddenly help migraines? Thanks. Mike

Tomatoes- especially cooked tomatoes such as pasta sauce and canned tomatoes, as well as fresh tomatoes and other red fruits like watermelon, persimmon, red-fleshed papaya, provide Lycopene, a very strong chemical known to have a great effect on heart health, lowers cholesterol, and also contains anti-oxidents
