Lupron

I meet with my oncologist tomorrow for quarterly appointment and another dose of lupron and this will be one of my questions for him. After 40 months at near zero I’ve been more than doubling PSA past 3 quarters. Have to admit I’ve not felt this energetic for quite some time.

I notice that many of you mention Lupron. Can anyone explain the differences and am I on the best option for ADT? One further question is that I am yet to have my hormone levels checked. When is this appropriate? Thank you.

So after being on lupron/zytiga for 2 years and having a PSA of <0.1, I stopped ADT last Feb. It took until about September for my testosterone to start to reappear. My PSA went up to 0.1 in September so about the same time my testosterone came back.

Prostatectomy, 40 radiation treatments and 7 months Lupron. PSA was soon undetectable. Stayed that way until 2020. It slowly increased to 7.3 in 2021. Ga68PSMA and Auxumin (?) Pet scans all showed nothing. Started on Firmagon. PSA went to undetectable within two weeks.

found PC and bone mets Feb 2021, Cleason 4+5 (9) I have been on Lupron and Casodex since. I did 6 chemo treatments the last one on Dec 9, 2021. PSA started at 82.2 now down to .060 as of this week. My MO wants to put me on Xtandi instead of Casodex. He said the biggest SE is fatigue.

I have been on Erleada + Lupron + Xgeva for 3 years now. I can’t get it up. I have been single for about a decade. I don’t care for the bottom bunk. Now, I have found out I need to use a catheter to void my bladder.

July 2020 started Lupron, 3 month injection and Xgeva monthly injection. Both continue as of Feb 2022. Sept 2020 - Started Abiraterone and Prednisone.

It’s been a tough couple years since then (treatment EBRT, brachytherapy/seeding, Lupron (2 years)). No recurrence at this point but initial treatment was in Northern VA. We have since moved to Fort Myers, FL area and are trying to find a good doctor for him to continue with follow-up monitoring.

Combined with Lupron has worked but side affects continuing for over a year has me clamoring for a break. Cancer had spread to bones but PSA <0.01. Want to try a break but DR. indicates once I stop, cannot go back on above- Any Thoughts? Richard

He underwent radiation and a couple years of Lupron. This past summer, his PSA spiked to 2.0. A PET scan showed no signs of cancer outside the prostate, and a prostate biopsy showed no signs of cancer in the prostate.

I am stage four on Eldergaurd (Lupron) and Xtandi, a met in the hips and one in the spine. I am taking several supplements including calcium and D3. Should I be taking collagen?

If ADT e.g lupron etc is keeping T low and PSA stable what is the added benefit of abiraterone? Is the objective of tx to keep T low, get T lower or is there something else which abi can do to help stop grow/spread. ? Thanks. Ps.Merry Xmas to all. Xx

Started on Lupron, PSA dropped to 6 by mid August 2020. Traveled to Germany to St. Georg Klinik for insulin-potentiated chemo + full-body hyperthermia to complement ADT SOC treatments. CT and bone scans in the following October showed most mets resolved or decreasing.

Have been on Erleada 9Apulutanide) with Lupron and Psa is Excellent <.02 for a year but would like a 3 to 6 month break . Has anyone done that aqnde what can I expect?

Why is having sex with a guy on Lupron like a snow storm? You never know when he's coming, how many inches you'll get, or how long it will last.

I have a question, post TURP (to provide some quality of life) post Radiation (44 days), on Lupron and Ababitaron, PSA is 0.0<5, however, I continue to have excruciating pain when urinating, like razor-wire. I have many "micro-pees" per day and the pain is there as well.

At 1 Year I was released from the Lupron (was supposed to be 2 years) when my doctors asked how I was feeling physically and I simply told the truth. I didn’t complain or ask to cut it short, I just told the truth- we who have been on ADT all know.

I know from my previous experience on Lupron that my hot flashes can be very uncomfortable and embarrassing. My MO prescribed Effexor to control the hot flashes, but upon learning it’s an anti-depressant, I am reluctant to take it.
