Anybody suffer with intercostal myalgia/weakness?
I only ask because I have a severe breathing issue that is yet to be satisfactorily diagnosed. I've been told I just have a 'breathing dysfunction' but that suggests over (or under) breathing. Which I'm clearly not. But it's gradually getting worse and has been for almost 3 years. I also suffer with

Hope of surviving stage 3b lung cancer NSCLC
Hi everyone My 66 year old healthy beautiful dear mother was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer nsclc in September, she had no symptoms, never smoked and is healthy. It was in the centre of her lungs in lymph nodes and on right lung (7cm) and 1cm had spread to left lung. She started 30 cycles of radiotherapy

My dad
Sad to have to say my dad passed away on the 19th December. A short 12 weeks after being diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer. The cancer was too advanced for him to receive any treatment that would have been of any real benefit, and he died at home peacefully, thanks to the wonderful support we received

Post lung surgery
Hi everyone, happy Xmas! 🎅 Back in Feb I had R lung surgery due to my Rheumatoid Arthritis. I'd had 4 collapsed lungs in short space of time due to air pockets that kept bursting! I had the pockets removed and stapled and then lungs stuck to my chest cavity with own blood, very sore indeed! I just

Finding a Personalized Approach To Treating Chronic Rejection After Lung Transplantation.
Two new papers examine the processes of lung scarring and chronic rejection of the organ after transplantation, and potential therapies to stop the graft, or transplanted organ and its tissue, from failing. “Chronic graft failure due to progressive scarring is the number one worry of all transplant

Restaging from IIB to IV
I’ve heard a couple of different theories so wondered - I was staged IIB (T1c pN1 M0) (curable) at the time of my URL surgery (2/2020), had adjuvant chemo and then a brain MRI and CT scan showed no evidence of disease upon completion of chemo (6/2020). Six months later (12/2020), my brain MRI shows

I had a
lobectomy
on 8/28 on my upper left
lung
for NSCLC and was told no further treatment is needed since I'm stage 1a. I'll be scanned every 3 months, then every 6, then yearly. Has this happened to anyone else?

Stage 2B lung cancer, new brain lesion
I had a URL on 2/20/2020, then chemo 3/13/2020 - 6/3/2020. My test results on 6/20/2020 showed no evidence of disease (NED) and I was staged at 2B. I had a CT scan and PET scan 12/1/2020 and a very small lesion was found on my brain. From neck down, I am still NED. I went from stage 2B to stage

Would you like to have a friendly chat with a UCL researcher about your experiences of being diagnosed with lung cancer?
[I'm re-posting for any recent members. Thank you again to all those who have already responded and taken part.]
Were you diagnosed with lung cancer within the last 12 months?
Have your say about your experiences in the PEARL study - a research programme led by UCL and funded by Cancer Research

Unexpected finding reveals new target for aggressive form of lung cancer.
An MSK team has found that a particular subset of lung adenocarcinomas is aggressive due to a combination of two mutations that allow them to block ferroptosis, a type of cell death. Targeted therapies are currently available for about one-third of people with lung adenocarcinoma, the most common

Lung transplantation for patients with severe COVID-19
Case studies and autopsy results are confirming that, in some cases, COVID-19 can cause such severe lung damage that patients require a lung transplant to survive. In a new study, researchers in Chicago analyzed discarded tissue from COVID-19 patients who had lung transplants and from patients who died

New cancer-fighting method leverages the mechanical force of T cells.
Immunotherapy is a promising weapon in the fight against cancer. It has proven to be much more effective than chemotherapy and radiotherapy in treatment of some cancers. The drawback is that it manages to cure only about 20% of patients; the remaining 80% do not respond to this kind of treatment. “But
