I had Graves in 2003, RAI in 2010 straight to Hypo managed ok until i started collapsing in agony in 2017 until i got T3 along with my Levo I had to beg to try T3. The T3 has stopped the collapsing but my body is in constant bone & joint pain, chronic fatigue, air hunger, blurry vision, I feel dehydrated

Is an iodine supplement a good idea?
Does anyone have any information on iodine supplements? I read that iodine in the form of Kelp is good for HF but not sure whether to try it. I can’t find any interactions with other medications but if it is such a good thing, then why don’t more people take it?

Iodine as a Prostate Cancer Preventative
I've been on a soapbox lately espousing the benefit of iodine supplementation. Here is an article by Dr Brownstein that is of interest regarding prostate and breast cancer. https://www.newsmax.com/health/davidbrownsteinmd/prostate-cancer-iodine-cysts/2017/05/10/id/789369/ It might be too late for many

Thought I finally had an answer for my pain
Had my laproscopy 14 weeks ago where they found endometriosis. I’ve just had my follow up with the consultant who said I had the tiniest amounts of endometriosis, I explained I still had lots of pelvic pain all on my right side and he said that the amount of endometriosis I had wouldn’t be causing this

Not the norm RA symptoms, is anyone else experiencing the same?
It's been awhile since I last contributed here, although I read nras posts regularly. I'm 3 years into a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis but I have never experienced the usual pain, redness, heat and swelling I read about. I've always had hip and pelvic pain that aches and burns, sometimes down my legs

Codeine and Levothyroxine-ok to take?
Hi I have painful arthritis and my GP has just stopped prescribing Diclofenac which worked wonders but has some serious issues with safety. He’s prescribed Codeine instead but I didn’t ask if it interacted with Levothyroxine in anyway? Has anybody experienced issues with taking the 2 meds? Obviously

Prostatitis and pain HELP??
Hi, I'm 25 and was diagnosed with prostatitis last year following about 4-5 years of issues with inflammation, pains and swelling in my prostrate area and perineum. They haven't categorised the type of prostatitis I have but I've been having awful flare ups for which they have been giving me 4-6 weekly

Adopt a Phytoestrogens diet while going through the menopause and hashimoto's - good or bad ?
Fed up with feeling unwell. Not only am I suffering from hashimoto's but now also menopausal symptoms. Last thyroid test in July was borderline normal. My sleep is erratic, hot flushes are horrendous, muscles ache, shoulder injury not healed in a year, headaches. Been looking at fx menopause but ingredients

Unsuccessful pain management
Hi everyone, Last night I ended up being taken into my local A + E by ambulance after ringing 111. I’m on the second day of my cycle and have been having my usual symptoms; sickness, headaches, fainting, diarrhoea and feeling extremely fatigued. The pain this month is the worst it’s been, it just seems

RAI i would love to hear your experiences 😊
Hi i saw my Endo yesterday and he suggests i have RAI for my hyperthyroidism due to my Graves disease, i had a relapse FT4 76 and he thinks it was due to me being on 5mg Carbimazole daily. I was stable at 10mg daily but he tried to lower dose to see if he could get me totally off the meds...obviously

In so much pain and so tired, Recent bloods from medichecks,
Since myT4 has been gradually getting lower I was advised to have SHBG checked. I had The anaemia panel done also as I’m so tired, breathless and suffering muscle pain. I can barely lift my arms. I’m on 125mg thyroxine and 30mg liothyronne I had graves and then RAI therefore I’m now hypo this 24 yrs

Hyperthyroidism- First Endo Appointment
Hi All, first appointment with my endocrinologist yesterday following diagnosis of hyperthyroidism in June this year. I’m looking for a bit of help as I feel a bit “bamboozled” with what he said. He explained that the best options were a thyroidectomy or RAI, and the RAI was the one he seemed to steer
