To all of you
When they done the
lobectomy
that was horrible seven days in the hospital,I had tubes running out of me. I spent the first night in the icu. I had two tubes running out of my left side two days before I went home they removed one I had to keep the other in for another week.

Chemo & Surgery or Chemo & Radiotherapy ?
I'm in somewhat of a dilemma, it would seem that it is to be my decision as to whether I have Chemo with Radio therapy or Chemo followed by a
Lobectomy
of the left lung. The problem is no one can give me any actual facts upon which to make an informed decision.

Sharp pain across chest.
I've just come across this site so I thought I'd ask a question.I had upper right lung
lobectomy
recently due to cancer. Also, as many lymph nodes removed as possible. My question is: Is a very sharp pain and tightness across the chest under the breast bone a normal feeling post op?

Sharing good news - stage IIIB NSCLC
I was diagnosed June 2014 with stage IIIB NSCLC and have had chemo, radiotherapy and then had a
lobectomy
in June 2015. I have had no treatment since the surgery and my scans have remained all clear since then too.

Post lobectomy.
It has been almost 25 months since my
lobectomy
. The COPD seems to be getting worse. Thankfully I have been tobacco free for over seven years. The weight is slowly coming off.

Hello I had a right

20 years ago after some nodules were diagnosed I had one follow up with the surgeon and asked whether or not I needed medication and was told " no - that lobe wasn't working anyway, so your hormone levels won't be affected" I thought this rather odd - but accepted what

STAGING QUESTING -Should my group staging be changed again - might make me feel better a bit at least - but a,genuine question too for hope
THey said the approach would be "radical" They suspected 2-3 lymph nodes were affected and as well as the lower left
lobectomy
, they ,with another 14-15 other sites were removed and all found to be clear - great news indeed.

Finally having surgery on Thursday
I already had a
lobectomy
7 years ago because of a goitre and nodules, but I had no pain then. I have been taking 25mg Thyroxine (I know a tiny dose) for about 5 months now and it has made a massive difference to my tiredness.

Anybody Here Have A Lobectomy?
I am a basket case right now. I went for my surgery consult (after many tests) and it is suggested that my upper left lobe be removed, with a 10% chance that he might have to remove my whole left lung. Has anyone had this done? A quick background; two years ago I was diagnosed with stage 2 NSCLC on

My experience 48 hours post full thyroidectomy
I didn't have a drain in this time (I had a drain 7 years ago when I had a
lobectomy
). My wound was covered with a blue dressing which I have now removed. The surgeon has used dissolvable stitches and steri strips on the wound which I'll remove myself after a few days.

I had a full right lung lobectomy in 2007
I was DX with stage 3a NSCLC in October 2007. In November I had my right lu g removed via VATS surgery at NYU in New York. I was fully capable of doing everything I did before and am now heading into year 10 of being cancer free. If you have a great thoracic surgeon you should be fine. I will say that

New here -boyfriend had ileostomy 10 weeks ago
Following a flare up of UC (5 years in remission no problems) my boyfriend had an emergency subtotal colectomy and now has an ileostomy. Hadn't had any build up or preparation for this op so all a big shock. Had been in hospital for 2 weeks before operation so had lost a lot of weight and was very

Potentially a major setback
She said that if the condition is still progressing, and hasn't been cured by the drugs, I will have to have a
lobectomy
(I will lose a third of my right lung).

How do you know where is the best cancer center to treat you?
I had a right lower
lobectomy
7-12-16 . Currently doing chemo in my 3rd session right now, 1 more to go and then they want to to do radiation of the brain. I want to get a second opinion so bad. But when I go on computer I can't stay foced enough. Guess it's chemo brain. Don't know what yo do.

2 Months since partial thyroid lobectomy.
Hello, I just wanted to post my latest blood results and get some feedback. I have a feeling that the labs drawn by my ENT are not accurate. Here is the timeline of my lab results. On 9/2/16 TSH = 0.958 uIU/mL (0.450-4.500) T4 = 8.3 ug/dL (4.5-12.0) FT4 = 1.27 ng/dL (0.82-1.77) FT3 = 3.2 pg/mL
