Hi, have you not been offered to have it drained ?? Are you very uncomfortable with it ??
What stage is your liver disease and do you have ascites?
The Dr told me if that doesnt work it looking at transplant
l would wait l more day on was on them a few weeks ago it took about 3 days to start to move the fluid
I am in a very similar position. A very low dose of Spironolactone for eight months and I was ok. Suddenly a few weeks ago that changed and I gained 14lb of fluid. I had an ultrasound and thankfully there was no change in my liver so they are fairly bemused. They said it might have been caused by a sub clinical infection.I have lost 5lb in the first week which has sadly plateaued at the moment. That’s on 2 tablets a day. Apparently it is a fine balancing act, to have diuretics that don’t damage kidney function I was told. I too am fed up, as going forward my autoimmune condition will only get worse. And apart from a transplant which is not an option for me because of other chronic conditions, seem very limited. I know there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this site. Hopefully some one have some advice/ideas to share?
Hello to you,I went from one to two. But I found I was up going to the loo every few hours, so I went back to one. I manage my sleep now but I do find my tummy is bloated again. My Varices have reduced immensely but I also take Thiamine and Carvedilol, so wether that has anything to do with it I don't know. I even tried taking my second Spironolactone at 3pm rather than just before I go to bed. That didn't really help. Not much I feel I have helped you with but I hope you find a solution.
I would say if you have only just started taking the second tab give it a little time.
Take care, I know how you feel. It's rotten isn't it.
