Private health with PBC

Hi there - I have a very specific question related to anyone who has PBC, has private health insurance and may have developed a new diagnosis later down the line eg. Liver cancer.

How was your experience with private health dealing with the cancer and PBC? Did it mean treatment for that cancer was dealt with privately however the PBC was via public services? What if they overlapped eg liver cancer?

Asking as I’m looking into taking up private health insurance for future new conditions which may or may not be linked.

Not a hope of getting private health insurance for any life threatening disease including PBC and cancer - unless you are prepared to pay squillions!!

yeah even with cancer (touch wood) the NHS prioritises this and I’m not sure how beneficial private health is with something as major as cancer. The waiting list for the lothians (which is where I’m from) seems quite short to be seen for cancer…for now…..
