Can Caridopa/Levodopa reduce pain?
Is it possible for a Caridopa/
Levodopa
tablet to relieve pain for a period of time? I have found that taking a C/L tablet can help relieve pain for 3-4 hours. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Why Won't My Neurologist Listen (Explanation)
Levodopa
is converted to dopamine in the brain, but part of the dose of
levodopa
is broken down in the body to an inactive substance before it reaches the brain. Comtan helps to prevent this breakdown of
levodopa
, and increases the amount of
levodopa
that gets to the brain.

Repost with more info: peripheral neuropathy
It's more noticeable in the afternoon and evening, and follows the curve of response to carbidopa-
levodopa
throughout the day. Best in the morning, worse mid afternoon, and late evening. It's more pronounced on my left side, as are my motor symptoms. When I'm ON, I don't notice it.

Using B1 therapy
He is thinking of trying
levodopa
as soon as we can see a new doctor, although our appointment is not until late January. I am worried that all the benefits of B1 are being lost in the meantime, so he is going to try one-quarter tablet once or twice a week, and we’ll see what happens.

Intermittent RLS: why carbidopa/levodopa????
Can anyone enlighten me as to why the Mayo Clinic suggests carbidopa/
levodopa
(sinemet) as prn therapy as opposed to ropinorole/pramipexole? I used to have persistent RLS (managed with ropinorole) which thankfully stopped after I stopped my SSRI.

Interesting(and extremely painful)side effect from Parkinson's to be aware of.
How this ties in with my Parkinson's is I realized that when I was having an off time with my carbidopa/
levodopa
therapy my body would tense-up triggering a spasm in my QL muscle. After doing PT, ice/heat, lidocain shot and finally dry needling, I think it finally calmed down, YAY!

HICCUPS!
Apparently, the classic meds for chronic hiccups interfere with the
Levodopa
meds. Hiccups can initiate in the Substantia Nigra area of ones brain. I remain totally committed to the B1 Protocol. It's my only hope of leading a reasonable life from here on in.

When will we reconcile with the fact that there is no cure now? Possibly never?
Because we are dependent on Carbidopa
levodopa
which is actually a lot of like an addiction. Any cure depends on the ability to wean off carbidopa
levodopa
, which is pretty much impossible without solid cooperation from the medical community.

CARBIDOPA 25/LEVODOPA 100MG TAB For RLS
I know this drug was talked about in relation to Parkinson's. My doctor has prescribed it for my RLS when I travel in an airplane. I am only to take no more than 3 tablets per week. Has anyone used this for traveling? Any help? Side effects? Comments, please.

Started my grandmother on TTFD
After 5 days it seemed like her physical dyskinesia was more jerky, I tried reducing her
levodopa
dosage from 100mg to 50mg. Surprisingly, she seems to be lasting 2 hours on 50mg
levodopa
now - (last year, I took a mental note that 100mg
levodopa
would last her about 2 hours and 15 minutes).

A post-hoc analysis result from the PASADENA trial: Prasinezumab slows motor progression in rapidly progressing early-stage PD (preprint).

Levodopa end-of-dose dystonia successfully treated by neuromuscular taping: A case report
Most of us experience this havoc and its very cumbersome and disturbing. While searching on the topic I came across this article and found it worth sharing. Neuromuscular taping (NMT) is a physical therapy technique where an elastic drug free tape is applied without tension in order to lift the skin

Tremors are still there
I started 4 weeks ago with 25/100 Carbidopa-
Levodopa
, 3 pills a day. I am taking them every 8 hours without side effects. I am disappointed that my right hand tremors (main motor problem) are still constantly there. They have never disappeared .

Is Rytary really working better than Carbidopa/Levodopa?
I started on Carbidopa/
Levodopa
25/100, 3x a day and then went up to 4x a day. Primary troubling symptom is peripheral neuropathy and toe curling which causes balance issues and painful walking.

Does anyone take more than 200mg as an individual dose? If so how long between doses?

Novartis Stalevo info (technical)
I know someone posted some technical info around L-dopa absorption rates somewhere...can I find it now? Can I heck as like...it might not even have been on this forum now I think about it.... Anyways...I've found some of my own on Stalevo. Be warned it's 26 pages of fairly dense statistics, chemistry

Slow or normal L-DOPA?
I just wanted a very quick straw poll...which sort of L-Dopa works better for you; slow release, normal release, or a mix of both? I used to do best on all slow, but these days a 50:50 mix seems best.
