What kind of "unusual body movements" does stopping Levodopa cause?
Cutting back on
Levodopa
a little seems to lesson, but farther reduction seems to make worst.
Am I trying to reduce
too quickly? A listed side effect of
Levodopa
withdrawal is unusual body movements.

Low dhea-s in parkinsons patient with dementia
He is not very responsive to
levodopa
after that and after several consults with neurologists have found no other solutions. Tam some tests based on PD panel by Laura Mischley, and gave him methyl b12/folate along with minerals and glutathione/curvumin as homocysteine was off the charts.

Cellulose breakdown, pill effectiveness, and gut bacteria
I've been thinking about controlled release
levodopa
, and how it hasn't worked for me, but works for others. Maybe my gut bacteria is different? This article discusses the findings that some people have lost the ability to break down cellulose in the gut. Many fillers these days are cellulose.

Opicapone
I was wondering if people who have taken Opicapone have been given any instructions on how to scale down the amount of
levodopa
they take per day. I would be grateful if you share this information here. Thank you in advance.

A friend's successful use of high dose thiamine
She does, and still takes
levodopa
/carbodopa. Her psychiatrist, who is also a neurologist, doesn't believe she has it. She continues to have a small tremor and some balance problems but just the fact that she's never gotten worse is a confirmation that Dr. Costantini was correct.

Recent study on Levodopa
Only one medication has demonstrated improvement in dyskinesia in
levodopa
-treated PD patients; however, every patient cannot tolerate it and therefore adjunctive therapy should be tailored to an individual’s symptoms and risk for specific adverse effects.

Carbidopa/Levodopa??
I have always taken Carbidopa/
Levodopa
for my RLS. I have always been told it is usually given to Parkinson’s patients but I don’t have Parkinson’s. Anyone else take it?

Vitamin B6 in B Complexes
Currently under the care of a movement disorders specialist, and treated not too successfully with a
levodopa
/carbidopa combo. Very low-energy. Not sleeping well. Scoliosis; alot of trouble walking distances. Lately, I've been plagued with muscle cramping and bladder soreness.

Experience with tapering Neupro, Dopamine Agonists, and managing DAWS
Has anyone successfully discontinued these drugs and managed their condition with monotherapy or a combination of an MAO inhibitor and
levodopa
? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

HDT- B1 overdose and worsening of symtoms
I still have more tremor, could not sleep, and
Levodopa
/carbidopa does not seem to have the same effect as before. Could be this worsening of symtoms caused by B1?

Weakness in the legs
My neurologist says it's
levodopa
FOG. Any help for that? I found on the web that vibrating socks are used for this purpose and that scientists do not have an explanation why leg weakness occurs because the EMNG findings are ok.

Oral
levodopa
is a building block from which dopamine is formed in the body. It is usually used with carbidopa, which stops the body from breaking down
levodopa
, so that more is available to form dopamine.

A google search reveals: “Such toxic effects of
levodopa
can be blocked by co-treatment with antioxidants, particularly thiol-containing compounds.” But further reading indicates “in vitro”
levodopa
is toxic — studies in living tissue indicate it is nontoxic.
