Hello all, after start 50mg B1 sublingual on April 10th 3 times a week i experimented a worsening of symtoms on April 24th. I stop B1 that day. Today, 9 days after, it still does not seems that worsening regresses. I still have more tremor, could not sleep, and Levodopa/carbidopa does not seem to have the same effect as before. Could be this worsening of symtoms caused by B1?

HDT- B1 overdose and worsening of symtoms
Personally, I definitely think this worsening of symptoms was caused by too much B1. It can sometimes take quite a bit of time for your thiamine levels to drop which is why Dr Costantini’s colleagues asked me to lengthen the recommended break time to 1-2. weeks, when I wrote the book. I had started off with a much shorter time. It’s as though too much B1 makes everything agitated and it takes time for it all to calm down again..

Sublingual isn't the form that Dr. Costantini researched and recommended. He used Thiamine HCL. Quoting from the website run by his clinic: "In case of recent onset of the disease in patients whose weight is comprise between 50 to 65 kg (110 – 145 lbs), we begin the therapy with two grams of thiamine per day, before and after lunch.… HDT is very individual specific when it comes to dosing. "
Is it possible that sublingual form is more problematic with overdose?
That could be the case. Dr. Costantini found that some people only needed 250 mg of thiamine HCL (1 gram = 1,000 mg) to help their Parkinson's. The amount needed varies tremendously. My friend who is using it is a woman and needs 3.5 grams twice per day, every day. So finding the right dose can be tricky. But it can be done, if you pay close attention to symptoms.
It's strange that after stopping B1 your symptoms continue to get worse. Normally if your symptoms get worse from overdose then you'd be getting better by 9 days. But since you won't cause long lasting harm by stopping the B1 I would continue to not take it until you find your worsened symptoms have gotten better. I don't know how long that would take in your particular situation but I think you should find improvement within 3 weeks.
There is ONLY ONE WAY YET KNOWN TO REVERSE THE MOVEMENT SYMPTOMS OF PD!
That is to WALK AS FAST AS YOU CAN FOR A MAXIMUM OF ONE HOUR, EVERY SECOND DAY.\
I have been doing that since 1994 and am still PD symptom-free at the age of 89!
There is NO MEDICATION available that is capable of reversing PD.
The only way to do that is to start doing FAST WALKING, for a maximum of one hour, every second day.
I have been symptom -free since 1996. I am now 89 years old!
