Entacapone causes diarrhea?
I’ve been taking Entacapone for exactly three months because of wearing off times about 45 minutes prior to next Sinemet dose. It has provided a modest improvement in my overall functioning. I’ve been taking it three times per day with 25/100 c/l. Aside from the yellow urine no side effects until ten

Subcutaneous combination therapy improves ‘good on’ time in Parkinson’s
Primary analyses from this phase 3 clinical trial of the investigational, subcutaneous infusion of levodopa/carbidopa (LD/CD) (ND0612) showed that treatment in doses of up to 720 mg/90 mg per day, supplemented with oral levodopa provided almost 2 additional hours per day of “Good On” time without troublesome

Finding the Right Dose of Levodopa
Hello, everyone. I am having a problem trying to find the right dose of Carbidopa/Levodopa 25/100. The problem is that 1/8 - 3X daily seems to be insufficient at times (e.g. resulting in freezing) while ¼ - 3X daily seems too much (e.g. either a feeling of extreme stiffness OR feelings of being too

Experience with tapering Neupro, Dopamine Agonists, and managing DAWS
Hi all, I'm reaching out specifically to those who have lived with Parkinson's disease for over 10 years and have decided to discontinue dopamine agonists (Mirapex, Requip, Neupro) due to severe side effects. I'm a 56-year-old male, diagnosed with PD 11 years ago, and have been on agonists combined

My case is probably the same as many but as always there will be many experiencing a different situation . I write in hopes that I may help others others know what is ahead or maybe get a reply that will further that knowledge for me. Recap: I am a 77 year old male, diagnosed with PD in 2002, 22

Anyone experience a wearing off cough/shortness of breath?
Hi everyone, does anyone experience a ‘wearing off’ cough or shortness of breath? Not much info out there other than it is not determined if it is the meds, PD, or wearing off. Hubby is experiencing this the last few weeks and it seems to happen during wearing off, it’s an awful cough and tight chest

Rasagiline?
I had an appointment with a neurologist who wants me to continue taking Carbidopa-levodopa, but also take Rasagiline. The side effects and food interactions list seem onerous and dangerous to me. And, it is rather expensive. I canceled the prescription until I understand this drug better. Any thoughts

How Much Carbidopa Levodopa After 5-10 Years? Any other meds?
I am about to "celebrate" the six year anniversary of my Parkinson's disease diagnosis. I currently take five 25/100 Carbidopa Levodopa tablets per day, usually around 9:00 a.m., noon, 3:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. although timing varies slightly from day to day. Lately, I have noticed that I

One whole tablet or two halves?
According to a new American study, taking two half tablets instead of one whole tablet of the C/L medication reduces fluctuations in the active substances in the blood and thus the risk of movement disorders such as dyskinesia. A combination tablet typically works for two to four hours - for extended-release

Rasagiline and Mucuna together?
My MDS is a huge fan of rasagiline and I’ve taken it for almost 3 years, and want to continue to take Mucuna and carbidopa as needed along with it. I've read that Mucuna should not be taken with rasagiline. Is there any truth to this? I’m not going to stop taking rasagiline, and I’d rather not start

Interesting(and extremely painful)side effect from Parkinson's to be aware of.
I am 68 year old male who was diagnosed with Parkinson's 8 years ago. Recently I sustained an injury to my lower back/hip area that was diagnosed as a strained QL muscle. My PT told me to slow down with my workouts and physical activities so I did but I continued to have extremely painful and debilitating

Variation in dose: doctor to doctor
We often hear the following said to help explain the difference in drug regimen between one PD patient and another: "all patients are different". At its simplest in a regimen formed entirely of carbidopa/levodopa we see daily doses of between 50 and 2000mg, perhaps more. While it's likely that the

Mucuna and carbidopa alone?
I will be starting to experiment with 1 NOW brand Mucuna capsule, and carbidopa alone. I am not taking Sinemet yet, as I’m trying to take a more natural approach. Has anyone taken this combo, and if so, could you please give me any ideas of dosages of carbidopa to take with one mucuna capsule? (Or Parts

Is Rytary really working better than Carbidopa/Levodopa?
I’ve had PD for at least 5 years but it was only diagnosed 1 year ago. I started on Carbidopa/Levodopa 25/100, 3x a day and then went up to 4x a day. Primary troubling symptom is peripheral neuropathy and toe curling which causes balance issues and painful walking. Secondary symptoms are weakness, lightheadedness
