How do I now up the anti tnf question ? (if you pardon the pun)
I was put on mtx several months later, slowly (I think too slowly) and I've recently been given
leflunomide
which I now take with 20mgs mtx. My issue is that although I'm not in direct pain, my joints are most often swollen and my feet and hands are most always tingling.

Hydroxy/ Plaquenil or Leflunomide/ Arava in combination with 15mgs MTX that is the question?
Worried about my eyes with the Hydroxy - has anyone tried both at different times with MTX and if so which seemed the better combination?

My Rheumatologist will only give tentative diagnoses AFTER 4 YEARS attending his clinic. I have Sarcoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia & Chronic
I have tried
Leflunomide
, Methotrexate but could not tolerate them now he proposes Hydroxychloroquine which I am about to undertake. Is this just hit-or-miss Cookery Book Medicine?

Right now it is methotrexate, plaquenil,
leflunomide
and steroids. I have not been able to work now for almost two years. I am in total awe of anyone with RA still working.

Just when you think things are on the up ...
July 25th Got my Methotrexate back last month, restarted on 7.5mg, and stopped the
Leflunomide
which didn’t seem to be doing anything anyway.

My Living Rheum :)
I have
Leflunomide
added to the mix and now I wait … I will have to live with the joint damage caused by years of relatively uncontrolled disease. Some of that can be repaired by surgery.

Hi - has anyone experienced unexplained weight loss on leflunomide?
I've read it can be a side effect, but don't know what in
leflunomide
causes it, or if it's serious?

Hi - has anyone had continual problems with low white blood counts resulting in having to come off various RA medications?
Started
leflunomide
6 weeks ago and have now passed the level in white cell count where it's recommended to come off that! Since the whole point of these meds is to reduce the immune system, surely they will all do the same?

Rheumatology ... ... DIY?
Clearly the
Leflunomide
isn’t doing the business so I can come off that if I wish. She could put me on Rituximab but if I am still sero-negative it may not be as effective as it could otherwise be. If it turns out I’m now ‘positive’ it could be a different story!

Today I am absolutely positive!
, gold injections (highly toxic and rarely used these days), sulphasalasine, Hydroxychloroquine,
Leflunomide
(tried twice), Methotrexate (tried twice) and Infliximab ... all failed!

Onward and upward?
Leflunomide
holds the disease back but doesn't stop it from spreading so two weeks ago I discussed anti TNFs with my consultant. I researched both Enbrel and Humira but to be honest I just don't want to move up the chain so quick.

Drug free time but not pain free!
Was put on
Leflunomide
before Christmas didn't suit so was told to stop it, was on Sulfasalazine before which started to fail, now have not been on anything until last Thursday when went back onto Methotrexate, which will obviously take a while to 'kick in'.
