After having no luck on mtx i'm now on arava. Told rheumy nurse at first appointment i only have 1 kidney. Does anyone know if arava affects kidneys? They said i would be ok on mtx with kidney but nothing mentioned when i changed to arava....... Will try to remember to ask at next appointment

Change of meds - thoughts, experiences please
Anyway he doesnt want me to stop and has changed me onto Avara(
leflunomide
) and gave me a steroid injection to calm things down again and buy a bit of time. BUT i can't find anywhere that this drug is used for vasculitis and in fact I found a couple of instances where it has caused vasculitis!!!!

How does your rheumatologist/GP respond to your pain?
(As it happens, I'm on prednisolone now and about to start
leflunomide
, so hopefully things will start looking up.)

Azathioprine and MTX
I had 100% decided on
leflunomide
but the more I read, the more I worry. Azathioprine was also suggested and now I'm wondering if this would be better as I see it's used for Lupus and I'm showing some symptoms. My rheumy is refusing to re-test Lupus antibodies but that's a story for another day!

Update 2 on stopping medication!!
So I'm now not sure if I've put up with my hair falling out and the sulphasalazine rash for nothing and why did the consultantis send me leaflets on
Leflunomide
and anti TNF medication leaflets to read ready for this appointment. If its not arthritis then what is it?

Leflunomide and methotrexate combination treatment
The lovely people at NRAS suggested
leflunomide
and MTX as a combination and I wondered how people have found this? I know everyone is different but I'd like to do my research. My rheumy was a bit concerned about my
leflunomide
in case I fall pregnant but it's really going to happen.

Fatigue and claiming on my income protection policy.
take Metho, Co-Codomol, Folic Acid,
Leflunomide
, Plaquenil & Naproxen. Hoped I could work self employed and control my hours but that has proved very challenging so now trying to claim.
