I'm new here

Had Hodgkin's disease in 1980, cured by X radiation therapy. That radiation damaged three big vessels in my heart and caused a triple bypass to be needed in 2012, along with aortic valve replacement. Then several years later an ablation which failed, which required a pacemaker installation.

Now I cough up phlegm on a daily basis and need to take Lasix often, to rid my lung cavity of excess fluid. Plus having needed a thoracentesis last year.

Still not sure why I'm coughing up that phlegm and having to rid myself of excess fluid in my lung cavity. No clear-cut answers from my doctors.

I know I should be drinking more water and I'm probably constantly dehydrated. I'm 5'11" and at last check weighed 154#. Weighed 212# in 2012 when I went in for the triple bypass. This weight loss has been very gradual and completely unintentional, but it's becoming kind of alarming now!

From one bob to another, welcome to the AF Forum.🤗

I liked your idea of introducing yourself to the Forum by Posting your Bio. It would improve the Forum greatly if that practice had been adopted more widely many years ago. Just my opinion.

Wishing you well with your health issues.

Welcome to the forum Mrbob84, I'm sorry to hear about your heart problems. I'm not a doctor but coughing up phlegm daily may be related to heart failure. Maybe this is something you can look into. Best wishes.

May also want to post in the HealthUnlocked British Heart Foundation forum.

No clear-cut answers from my doctors.

May I ask if you are a citizen of Mexico or just moved there from the US ? Need best medical care available. Hope you can receive proper diagnosis and path forward.
