Failed back surgery

I had l5 s1 fusion, laminectomy and bilateral foraminotomy almost a year ago and am concerned about the amount of back and nerve pain I am still experiencing.

OA in SI joints

I had l5 S1 fusion/ laminectomy and bilateral foraminotomy almost a year ago. I am still having back pain and a recent xray showed moderate osteoarthritis in the S1 joints. My left hip is extremely tight and my left ankle clunks and sometimes locks up when walking. Anyone have similiar issues?

Failed Back Surgery

In 2017 I had a Laminectomy for Severe Spinal Stenosis in L3/4/5. The operation was successful and for 3/4 months I was completely pain free for the first time in years!

Update on my father. Triplet therapy?

After my last post, my father underwent spinal cord decompression surgery - they did laminectomy and partial corpectomy of the fractured vertebrae and did pedicular screw fixation to stabilize the spine. It's been 2 weeks since surgery and he is prescribed bed rest for 4-6 weeks.

Pain after spinal op

Recent spinal op Recovering from lumbar decompression and laminectomy at L2/3 and 3/4. In awful pain far more than 2 previous op in thoracic spine. My pain is from under my boobs to my knees, a special kind of bloomer. Is this pain normal or am I being a woods?

Pregabalin

I had a Laminectomy due to Severe Spinal Stenosis which initially provided 4 months of relief. It then failed and deteriorated again. After that I’ve also had open heart surgery with a Triple Bypass and Mitral Valve Repair. After collapsing last year I’ve now been diagnosed with Heart Failure.

L5 S1 fusion, laminectomy and bilateral foraminotomy

I am coming up on 3 months post op. I go to therapy 2 x a week and can walk moderately for 15-30 minutes a day but every time I think I am making progress as far as being pain free I have a bad spell needing meds, ice and heat again. I am 60 and may just be slow to heal?

daughter of stage iv patient here

My father was admitted and had nephrostomy tubes inserted (kidneys were tanking quickly) as well as a laminectomy. In the hospital, his PSA was found to be 910 and a bone scan suggests it’s even in his skull.

FYI, I have back issues and originally was due to get a laminectomy. With everything going on I wasn’t sure where the pain was coming from.

L5 S1 laminectomy, foraminotomy and fusion

My surgery is Feb 15. Can anyone share what to expect recovery and pain wise. I will have a home health PT and nurse home visit the night of the surgery and the following day. I am really scared.

Why is my incision still draining?

On November 18th I had back surgery, an L3-L4 laminectomy, and an L4-L5 discectomy. Everything went like clockwork for the first two weeks or so, then the incision started to drain.

thanks to all....and curious about palliative care?

he performed a laminectomy but said nothing more he can do...that he is afraid my spine will crumble with aggressive surgery. i am doing this on my own without any outside help. just trying to advocate for myself.

Spinal Stenosis

In 2018 I had a Laminectomy Operation to relieve pressure on my lower back, L3/4 and 5. The operation was, initially a success but after about 5/6 months the pain returned.

PCa and now bladder cancer and kidney problems.

I’m reading about laminectomy. My quality of life isn’t so good and I got to figure all these things out. Ideas for pain radiating down both buttocks?

There's more of us than I thought!

Since then I've had several major surgeries - including a HOLEP (prostate op), right hemicolectomy (Colon cancer) and last week a laminectomy (spinal compression) from which I'm now recovering painfully and slowly at home. . (There's more but I won't bore you!).

Another flare, this time post-surgery

I had a lumbar laminectomy on Sept 9th, after realising the terrible pain in my back and legs wasn't all PMR. (It can be so hard to differentiate these pains!) The spinal surgery went well, but the recovery was more painful than I'd expected, and analgesia wasn't working.

Pre-op Flare?

I'm having a laminectomy tomorrow (spinal surgery.) I've been OK on 12mg Pred, but feel I'm having a flare. (Pain, feeling unwell.) I get little advice from GP, rhuemy won't respond. The anesthetist is guided by me. Should I try a bigger dose today and tomorrow to get me through?
