On/Off period caused by Sinemet. Anyone taking dopamine agonist and/or MAO inhibitors experience on/offs?
I found in the web an interesting info about a disclaimer contained in the package insert of Sinemet distributed in Australia. It warns as a “side effect the on/off periods may occur to some people after one year use where people may lose their ability to move from minutes to hours then can move again

PD and speech
My symptoms are largely under control with sinemet, with no sign of speech problems. The local Parkinson support group offers a music therapy program. Does anyone have experience with music therapy for Parkinsons people?

Meditation as treatment?
My first post. Two years ago dx'd with MS. Then a year later the neuros decided it's PD. I was on sinemet for a year with no change in the hand tremor. I have no other signs of PD. I understand that exercise is the only remedy that helps PD. I was a distance runner for over 30 years til this

Dopamine agonist withdrawal
Hello to all, I am looking for advice, support and somewhere to whine. I wrote before as I have got off a daily dose of SR pramipexole .75 mg and 1 tab sinemet 100/25. I took 6 weeks to do it . My dr wanted me to do it more quickly but I did not, having struggled through the whole misery once before

Sinemet 25/100 not available again UK
I've been told by my pharmacy that they can't fulfill my sinemet order again and I need to ask my doctor for an alternative. I can't get an appointment with my neurologist until January. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Have I been expecting too much? Comments and opinions welcome ....
Hi All I've posted before about Madopar and Sinemet not working for me and it's still not doing a great deal to help. At my 6-monthly chat with my neurologist recently I was keen to explore with him other issues like :- 1. Is he sure it's PD (could it be MSA or another PD+ mimic?) 2. Homeopathic / alternative

Switching off dopamine agonists to tramadol and lyrica
Just over a month tapering off the miaows and a bit of sinemet. Last night, none and had a dreadful night, as most of the others were too. Well going to try this, got nothing to loose..
Called my pcp just now and they said they would ask doc if he would write script for sinemet cr, will see what happens. For now i decided to reduce dosage from 1250 to 1000 a day. ill take 125mg every 3 hours 8 times a day(total 1000mg daily), hoping that will reduce the "off" periods which are running

Madopar VS Sinemet
My MDS decided to switch me to Madopar after my 5yrs horrible experiences (side effects) with various grades of Sinemet. He is aware that Zandopa (a brand of Mucuna) gives me far better relief (based on my testimony) than the Sinemet. Hence, he doesn't have any issue with my mucuna usage and even prescribed

CBD oil any good?
Has anyone used CBD oil for anxiety? My husband has ghastly attacks and is on Pregabalin (also for anti-epilepsy) but even at 500mg a day, the anxiety continues. He was put on Diazepam briefly recently but it had no effect except to make him sleepy. When he is calm I can cope with his Parkinson's (for

Meditation - A potential case of remission of Parkinson’s disease
Abstract: We present the case of a 78-year-old male who, 16 years ago, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD) by a neurologist. He initially presented with left-hand tremor, stooped posture, shuffling gait, and frequent falls, which eventually progressed to bilateral motor symptoms after 3 years

Not PD?
I am the caregiver for my spouse who was diagnosed with PD in 2013. He, like others on here had symptoms of Parkinson’s. They have never been what I considered severe with any of the symptoms. He is now 75 and was put on Sinemet 25/100. He took a total of 6 pills a day for quite some time. I have been
