Sinemet induced dementia
I was talking to a friend recently whose husband is a PwP. She said he had developed dementia from taking Sinemet for a long period of time, 20 years in his case. I had never heard of this before, and none of my doctors have mentioned it. Has anyone else heard about this?

Hi everyone,do you or have you experienced the increasing urge to urinate, which can sometimes lead to accidents, especially during off periods? I am 3 1/4 years post diagnosis and on sinemet. I was on Azilect for about six months post diagnosis, before starting on sinemet and I also experience this symptom

Reducing Sinemet
I recently posted a question about reducing Sinemet doses do you see if there was anybody else out there who had done this successfully. Maybe I am an anomaly but I’ve been able to reduce from 6 pills a day to less than 2 over the past 10 years and some days I can manage on 1 pill. It’s taken a lot of

Is anyone elses hand functionally directly related to taking Sinemet (Kinson) and/or is anyone taking 12 or more tablets per day?
I was just wondering if anyone: 1. Experiences an almost instant “on”, “off” effect with their hand functionality when taking Sinemet/Kinson (ie 100 levodopa/25 carbidopa which I will call for the resot of this post as "Sinemet" ) and/or 2. has been taking, over a long period of time, equal to o

Mucuna sinemet equivalent?
We have successfully been reducing my dad's sinemet intake and replacing it with mucuna. We started off with the raw powder but for convenience sake, have switched to the now brand 15% capsules. I am just trying to figure out equivalent doses. Can anyone clarify? Based on my understanding, 1 tablet

Carbidopa in Sinemet very harmful.
I recently ran across a research study on the serious damage done by the carbidopa in Sinemet (generic = carbidopa levodopa). It is a documented cause of a striking increase in deaths in Parkinson’s sufferers since it was added to L-dopa (levodopa), and since people with RLS often are prescribed the

Hello again, I need help from all the knowledgeable experts here please.
I have withdrawn from 0.75 mg Pramipexole at bedtime once daily and 100/25 Sinemet once at bedtime starting August 2019. You all know how miserable that was .. I then went onto Gabapentin , increasing to 1200 mg in divided doses at bedtime, with Targin 25 mg at the same time. I have struggled with

Would you call this a step towards "recovery" from PD?
My purpose in writing this is to get feedback on whether my experiences are similar to anyone else's and to get your opinion about where I stand now and where I might be going. I'm not claiming to be recovered, but if you read the rest of this rather long post, you'll see that my condition has improved

How many hours do you sleep?
Does anyone sleep at least 6 hours straight at night? Or is it always fragmented for you? What do you do to have a good night's sleep. My dad can't seem to get more than 4-5 hours a night. Sometimes he takes a cbd/melatonin/valarian tincture, other times an Aleve night pill... He has taken marijuana

Rytary overdosage
My husband has been on Rytary since 11-19-19! Sinemet for 20 years before! We changed bc he was freezing a lot and we heard good things about Rytary! He has still been freezing, but under control! His 1:00 pm time had been his hardest so we upped it from three to four pills (48.75-195mg) and left

Off periods?
I can guess the answer is, "It depends..." But I'll ask anyway. After a dose of Sinemet the PD signs diminish but eventually return. That's the OFF period, as I understand it. How long does the Sinemet last? Why can't I take more Sinemet once the OFF period starts? Once I start Sinemet, how long

IF balance problem is from PD will Sinemet help?
Third sunday in a row I put on my 25# back pack and walked on the half-mile asphalt track surrounding the rec center. The first time I walked for three hours before having balance problems. The second time the balance problem started after two hours. Today the balance problem started after one hour

Does Sinemet cause anyone else intense yawning?
I have been having great success with Sinemet, Vitamin B1, and fast walking. I’m doing better now than I have for several years, and seem to have very minor side effects from PD meds. I do notice, however, that if I take my Sinemet dose on an empty stomach, I start yawning within about half an hour,
