Could ovarian cancer and high TIBC (Total Iron Binding Capacity) be linked?
I was just looking back on my medical records and both last year and in 2022 and my TIBC was high both times but my
iron
was normal. The doctor said she didn't see any anemia, but it is odd that the TIBC was high since high TIBC means low levels of
iron
....yet
iron
was normal.

Sleeplessness
Hi, I posted a while ago and since have been medicated with 200mg Pregabalin and
iron
ferritin at 134…. it isn’t helping. I thought it would but I am up most nights….. I feel that if Pregabalin isn’t helping me that I should decrease and come off it altogether but I really don’t know what to do?

When to take iron with T3 multi-dosing
I'm trying to work out when to fit in taking
iron
(Three arrows) with my T3 doses. I am taking T3 as per my private Dr's schedule which is 3 times per day and 6-7 hours apart.

What the actual enzymes!
Everything else was fine in the bloodwork apart from.low
iron
and B12, and chlosterol was a bit high, was recommended to not drink and take supplements which l did. 9 weeks later I've had no alcohol, taken
iron
, b12, magnesium, vit c, lysine, B complex, cut out fast food and tried to eat better.

Ferritin
Why do we need to check ferritin, and how is it different than checking
iron
? Thank you.

NAFLD and Iron Deficiency
deficiency, and my ferritin has dropped low again so I suspect I’ll need more
iron
tablets and quite possibly a long term maintenance dose… my question is, is this safe with my liver?

My RLS has settled for the time being. Thank you for the information and support!
An hour before bed I take;
Iron
Bisglycinate; 5mg with a vitamin C chewable tablet. I'm aware this may not be the solution for ever, however for the time being it seems to be working.

Low iron
I have an
iron
count of between 29 and 33 from 2021 to now on a range of 11-360. For the last six months I've been taking a supplement to boost the serum
iron
level and the level has dropped from 33 to 31. I think I'm anaemic for symptomatic reasons. I SI EOD and have done for a year.

carbimazole help
The only one for concern is
iron
, which is 39 (low in range) so I’ve started taking an
iron
tablet. It could be low because I’ve recently become vegetarian and I have had a coil IUD fitted causing very heavy periods - but this is a different story.

TSAT low but Ferritin fine/maybe high
Then I read about b12 deficiency often also resulting in
Iron
and B1 deficiencies, and have been experimenting with B1 and also found this group. I had my
iron
levels tested, and Ferritin was fine, and TSAT was supposed to be normal, but it has dropped in the year of testing.

Is it necessary to fast prior to doing a full iron panel test?
Does anyone know whether the results are adversely affected by eating and drinking prior to drawing blood for an
iron
panel test? I’m talking at home, finger prick testing. Thanks.

Hematoma and Ruxolitinib
I am also taking prescription
iron
tablets due to my haemaglobin being on the low side. My platelets and white cell count are the higher end of normal. In the past 3 days I have two hematomas in my hand out of nowhere.

Daily multivitamins do not help people live longer, major study finds
The article specifically identifies
iron
: Meanwhile
iron
, which is added to many multivitamins, can lead to
iron
overload and raise the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and dementia. I think we'd also advocate for caution about iodine being very commonly included.

Hello 💐 I m new here. My platelet count 1080 down from 1140 (3 month ago).
My
iron
was low and platelets at 1140, everything else normal. I was given a prescription for
iron
tablets and my blood test last week showed
iron
now normal but platelets still very high. I now have to have further tests (genetic? JAK?)
