Help for Appetite
My 84 year old Uncle is finishing chemotherapy (metastases to bones, brain, lungs). Was in excellent shape/health until he wasn't. Anyway, he is unable to eat and is losing weight daily, quite weak. Any suggestions for stimulating appetite? His history is irrelevant as he is going to UCSF (lives

I’m still here!
It is 8 years today since I was told I had Epithelial Ovarian Cancer 2C. I had a full Hysterectomy and 6 Carbo/Taxol chemos. I do have some numbness and peripheral nerve pain from the chemo but No other treatment! I have been able to enjoy many things, seeing my grandchildren grow, look after my elderly

Migraine and trimethoprim
I recently suffered a urinary infection and GP prescribed trimethoprim. Three days into course I developed severe migraine with aura, feeling generally very unwell and increasing neck pain and stiffness. I persevered with tablets but migraine aura recurred every few hours and the pain was unbearable

NGS Test/Next-Generation Sequencing Important to have done.
Hello friends. I just wanted to make sure that if you are able to have this testing done, it is really important for your health and treatments that are given for your TYPE of BC. I was dx in 2016 and MBC in 2019. Ibrance and Fasoldex lated aobut 2 years. I was and still am ER/PR + and HER2low, but

Radiation after Docetaxel
My dad finished chemo Docetaxel in November 2023. In December his PSA was .61. In February it jumped to 2.3. He went for a PET scan. He went back to the doctor today his PSA jumped to 6. The scan showed that many of the metastasis in his bones shrunk are almost gone. There is one spot in his back that

Hi! I'm new and excited to meet others and learn about your journey
Good afternoon. I'm new to the group. I already posted an item, but thought I should introduce myself. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in 2010. Had a mastectomy. Went on tamoxifen for 2 years, then quit because it made me feel miserable. No chemo. In 2022, I was once again diagnosed

A break from chemo
hello, I have MBC, essentially I have been on some form of chemotherapy for over 2.5 years. The most recent medication is working well. However, I am feeling burnt out mentally and emotionally with the chemo. I am considering taking a 3 month break from chemo. Has anyone done this? What were the pros

Surgery was hugely succesful, thank the Lord! 😇🙏
Going into surgery with stage 4 clear cell cancer a week ago, I was advised they will take out all cancer they can see & will have a better understanding of spreading & the way forward.Woke up to better than that! They got it all out, easily & cleanly, full radical hysterectomy and appendix. Signs they

2Nd Biopsy in 3+ years of Bone Met
Greetings All, A question about biopsies: Upon PC-stage 4 diagnosis per discovery of pc lesions causing spinal compression in 2020, my husband had a biopsy taken during his back surgery-which showed his already metastatic pc not to be an inherited condition. He went on to radiation of the spinal

The first data talks about similar results but with easier administration: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0959804924001631

Immunotherapy
I'm just starting out on immunotherapy and would like to share experiences with others on the same drug. - Pembrolizumab. I'm due my 2nd treatment tomorrow. For someone who avoids taking anything stronger than paracetamol, it's all a bit scary. I haven't met anyone with lung cancer yet, and other

Starting Chemo
Starting Taxatere next week. Just got notified they want to put a port in. My MO said 18 weeks of weekly infusions. I thought the "Normal" was 18 weeks once very 3 weeks for infusions? Any comments on this and any tips to help tolerate the chemo. Thanks

At what point for scan ?
Hi. Currently just had # 4 chemo. Live in Canada so PSMA has never been done . Bone scan and CT scan. I'm wondering at what point it would be good to get a scan ( they already said it would probably be a CT scan as that's all we have in my province and eventually another bone scan which He has to fly

Heading down hospice road too…
I’m so sorry to hear about your dad 😢 I’m in a very similar situation with my dad, age 71, Gleason 9 with Mets to bone, lungs, lymph nodes and now a tumor in his bladder. Zytiga worked for him for years, but last January started with more bone Mets and lymph nodes, zytiga restarted and failed. Tried

Chemo progress
PSA 139 @ DX1-2024 started Orgovyx and Nubeqa dropped PSA to 62.93. Started Chemo 1st infusion..PSA 23.3 2nd infusion..PSA 11.26 3rd infusion.. PSA 7.45 Just got my labs back for the 3rd infusion. Just feel disappointed as I was hoping for a larger drop and seemed to have stalled out. Does it look

Spotting - ovarian cancer
I have stage IIIb ovarian clear cell, and I had my first chemo infusion 10 days ago. I've just started to feel a little better after all the side effects. A worrisome new symptom has come up today (Sunday), which was a little spotting when I went pee. I had a total hysterectomy in September, and I can't

QOL - Snow Gods are Smiling on SkiingFiend
Up until a week ago it looked like the local mountain ski season here in Vancouver was going to be a complete washout, as in zero ski days all season. Boy did that change fast. I completed my first chemo cycle a week ago friday and during my 3 sessions (wed-fri) and then over the weekend it dumped like

Blood work question
My husband just got round # 4 of chemo yesterday and bloodwork was done the day before. Doctor not concerned with anything on the blood work and did say that it is expected to change with each round of chemo. Everything looked good and hardly any changes but one flag I see was the Red cell distribution
