I had a lobectomy 9 years ago and (foolishly) thought I would have no more problems as all my scans since surgery have been clear. Breathing has always been a problem due to emphysema, but has lately got worse - X-rays, CT Scan and now PET scan show I have a 5cm "cavitating lesion" in that same lung (apparently it is like a doughnut creating a hole within the lung).
I just wondered if anyone else has had such a thing?? Unfortunately surgery has been ruled out, as have chemo and radiotherapy - I am waiting results of tests to determine if I am suitable for immunotherapy.
Not sure what this thing is, nor what to expect down the line so thought I'd ask here.
