Covid jab number 5
I have just been invited by the nhs vaccine centre to have a fifth covid vaccine. I explained that I had already had 4 jabs with the latest one done in early February 2022 but the lady said that if I hadn't had one since March '22 then, as I was Immunosuppressed, I still needed jab number 5 and she

5th jab, difficulties getting it
Hi, I thought I would let people know about the problems I encountered getting my 5th jab and how I dealt with them. Firstly my GP has NEVER sent an invitation for any previous jabs, despite my trying very hard to reason with them and understand why not. So when it came to my fifth I read the guidelines

Hi all, My mother was diagnosed 30 years ago with Autoimmune Hepatits. She was 22 years on immunosuppressive treatment which she decided to discontinue after a talk with her doctor. Two years ago her liver enzymes were abnormal especially ALP and GGT (272, 332) weak ASMA positive and mildly abnormal

To do KT or not?
To those of you that has had a kidney transplant, do you think it is worth to do it, given all the possible complications and the high risk of developing cancer by taking
immunosuppressants
? I am contemplating on undergoing pre- emptive KT but with of these possibilities , I am so nervous.

LLS (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) National Patient Registry Covid Vaccine guidelines
This is the latest update from the LLS National Patient Registry regarding blood cancer patients. It discusses items including related to recent posts on 4th 5th etc shots. It's US based info. Some info I found of note: ->>The world’s oldest and largest private cancer center, Memorial Sloan Kettering

Could there be an association between Hashimoto's thyroiditis and demodex infestation?
When I looked up demodicosis the first hit was a veterinary site! One of the more interesting facets of this disease is that it identifies a possible way in which thyroid disorders might affect us very indirectly. We can become fixated on every symptom occurring more or less directly due to the thyroid

For Littlepom: Reply from my MP
On Tuesday I had a reply to the letter I wrote on your urging LP, on March 1, expressing my concern about vulnerable people being denied the 4th jab. It came, not from James Cleverley MP himself, but from one of his Parliamentary assistants. Mr. C is much too busy as a Minister of State to write himself

Evusheld not ordered yet by the UK government
The Guardian has run a story today about this, quoting the Astra Zeneca boss, saying that “The UK is probably one of the rare developed countries in the world that has not ordered Evusheld. It’s a sad situation, quite frankly, because people who are immune-compromised are really suffering from the Covid

Jakafi (Rux) vs Besremi Side Effects
Edited to show PV - Rux (rather than MF-Rux ) effects info I started Besremi INF last Feb, as discussed in recent posts. My Dr said it is good medicine. But his 1st choice is Rux. He said it has fewer side effects and is best for symptom relief. I have PV Dx with ET features. I opted to go with

Metal allergies and Autoimmunity
Hi lupis, I hope you are doing great🙂. I wanted to share with you that I have had a contact allergy test, and I have been found to be allergic to the metals: nickel, cobalt and palladium. I have been instructed to restrict certain foods from my diet, a lot of them actually. But my surprise was to

How careful do I need to be when on IVIGs??
Hi all, for our next cycle I will be given IVIGs in an attempt to suppress my NK cells which we’ve found are in the high range. I won’t be taking steroids/intralipids, just the IVIG infusions. My question is around just how careful I need to be when on the immune suppression treatment?? Our doctor

Got my 5th Covid vaccine appointment
I have my 5th Covid vaccine booking for early May, just over 4 months after vaccine 4. I will probably flare badly neurologically for 3 months after, but hey, protection. Wibble! Note I didn’t book this. In Scotland we’re being sent appointments. But I’ve expected it any time 3-6 months after vaccine

Groups eligible for free LFT tests in Scotland after 18 April 2022
Here is the list of groups who can still order free LFT tests in Scotland after Sunday when general free tests end. I’m covered phew as a severely immunosuppressed person eligible for the antiviral drugs. And amazingly so is my husband as my unpaid carer (registered with my GP). Not all immunosuppressed

HRT postmenopause anyone?
Morning Peeps 🙂 It's a beautiful, sunny day out there today! 😎 It always makes me feel so much happier when the sun's out 🌞 I wanted to ask you lovely lot about about HRT... I am postmenopausal (approximately 6 years since my last period) and doing OK in many ways, at the moment - so felt it was
