2nd op/Prostap/Provera - which to choose ..?
Hello everyone, I am hoping for a bit of help/advice on behalf of my 19-year old daughter, who, after having a laperascopy a year ago to drain her ovarian cysts, has been told they are filling up again. She has been given the option of progesterone treatment (provera), Prostap for 1 year, or surgery

Mirena coil malposition, low lying
Hi everyone I currently have the Mirena coil which was inserted/replaced during my lap in March 2021. I just had an internal ultrasound due to ongoing add increasing pain to check if any new cysts and luckily none found. However my Mirena is low lying at 7mm low. I have a history of expulsion and malpositioned

Could this be bowel endo?
Hi all I had a laparoscopy in October and I told them beforehand that I felt like I had bowel endo, as I often bled from my back passage during my period as well as diarrhoea. They informed me that they would check the surface but wouldn’t check inside. So I had the surgery and they found endo but she

I’m really struggling with perimenopausal hormone fluctuations. My thyroid levels are stable and have been for a while now, however at the beginning of my cycle when my protestors drops and oestrogen increases, I feel awful and it takes a couple of weeks to level out again. I had been using bioidential

Contraceptive whilst on Decapeptyl - do I really need one?
Has anyone else been in this situation and what were you advised about contraception? I’ve been on Decapeptyl injections for 8 years and these have successfully managed by endometriosis. I have no pain or other symptoms whatsoever now. I get bone scans every 3 years to check my bone density and I’ve

Private laparoscopy
Hey there. I’m a 32 year old female, I had horrendous hyperemesis gravidarium while pregnant and since then my health hasn’t been the same. I’ve developed suspected endometriosis, which became terrible last year and I have a c section niche. Since having my covid booster I’m having a period every 12

Stupid question but...
Why don't all endo sufferers who aren't TTC on the pill to stop the monthly bleeding? Surely bleeding each month just creates more endo, so the first thing to do would be stop the bleeding? My Dr is recommending the coil which "might" stop my periods, it also "might" make me bleed really heavily for

Question about ultrasound and anyone else suffering the Irish healthcare system
Does ultrasound actually show anything other than if you are pregnant? I have quite advanced endometriosis and all I've had are ultrasound and the one lap that diagnosed me in 2018. I'm in pain and bloated and fed up with the constant BS from Irish medical professionals, after paying €200 euros for a

Cyst pain - do i need to worry it’s ruptured?
Hey all, Had a laparoscopy in October removing endo from my pelvis and a coil fitted. A few weeks later I was having agonising pain so referred for an ultrasound to check my coil was in the right place, and it was but they found a 5cm cyst on my right ovary which had either grown super fast or been

How to decide whether to have a hysterectomy
Hi, I'm newly diagnosed with stage 4 endo including 6 cm cyst and endo on anterior rectal wall. I've seen a private Dr who has advised I'd need surgery rather than just trying hormone treatment and my options are either a lap to remove what they can or a full hysterectomy. I'm 45, so fertility isn't

Hi I’ve had my date for implantation of

Experience with the Mirena Coil for Endo
Hello, After not getting on with side effects of Prostap, my gynae is proposing to trial the Mirena Coil. I'm due to have it fitted at the end of this month. I've heard mixed reviews - from horror stories (re side effects) to success stories! I just wondered if anyone who's had the coil could share
