Hey there. I’m a 32 year old female, I had horrendous hyperemesis gravidarium while pregnant and since then my health hasn’t been the same. I’ve developed suspected endometriosis, which became terrible last year and I have a c section niche. Since having my covid booster I’m having a period every 12 days. The first 3 days I can barely function, horrendous pain and blood loss. I’ve switched back to my old pill which unfortunately used to have me migraines. Work paid for me to see a private consultant who gave me several options, but the pain is so bad now I am considering surgery. She said this about the laparoscopy: “I will treat mild to moderate endometriosis - if it's severe we take images and plan later at the endometriosis centre with other specialities like if bowel adhesions perform with surgeons.”
The surgery is almost £4000 out of my own pocket. It should be going towards a house deposit! Is this the correct advice from the gynaecologist? Given my symptoms of severe pain, often shooting and stabbing which takes my breath away, nausea, heavy bleeding and tiredness would this be the best option? I can’t have the coil and we haven’t ruled out having another child so reluctant to have the implant.
Many thanks for any advice.
