He also took a couple of aspirin and ibuprofen the week before he se t his sample off, which was not a good idea as I understand they are a big no no, can anyone relate to this please?

Also , does it matter if I take ibuprofen as compared to acetaminopfen once in awhile ? Thank you .

Ibuprofen and paracetamol did nothing - I think that’s because it’s nerve pain but I’m not sure. I spoke to my GP and she prescribed amitriptyline and so far it’s been brilliant. The pain isn’t gone completely but it’s made a massive difference to my mobility, especially in the morning.

I have ibuprofen on board to help with the swelling and pain and hope a couple of days off should turn it around.

Tylenol does nothing and ibuprofen held a little bit. Is it usual for PMR pain to be bilateral? Any suggestion or advice will be much appreciated

Ive tried to take ibuprofen, paracetamol, use heat packs and drink chamomile tea but the pain still persists. Seems to come in waves and I think has peaked but still ongoing today. Is this normal after a failed transfer, should I be worried that I am still in (just about bearable) pain?

I have stopped taking turmeric paste because it can be diuretic and now ache all over - I would normally take Ibuprofen but from reading up on here about kidney disease (assuming that's what it is!!) I shouldn't take NSAIDS.

Long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (aspirin and ibuprofen) and infection with bacteria such as H. pylori are the two most common causes of peptic ulcers.

The last bout of it was due to ibuprofen which I took while I had covid. At that time the Gp put me on omeorazole 40mg daily . I also researched what to take that may help and I started taking Manuka honey 500 mgo in warm water three times a day. It helped and eventually the pain cleared.

My doctor has said under no circumstances to take any medication containing ibuprofen because of my steroids. Paracetomol does nothing to relieve the pain, co-codamol makes me ill. I read on the forum other people take ibuprofen which I think would help me. Any ones thoughts?

Ibuprofen 400 and Tylenol 500 together (cocktail), do alleviate the pain only somewhat today, but hard on the stomach as you can imagine. Apologies for the long rant. Just had to get it out.

Ibuprofen/tylenol is barely touching this, where it completely helped before, but this cocktail I will only take in the morning for obvious reasons. Reports were sent of to my rheumy and also back surgeon to whom I was referred last January and just spoke with him last week.

I’ve sporadically taken Ibuprofen which helps somewhat I haven’t raised my pred, waiting to see if it’s something else causing the pain and not PMR. Not sure where to go next. It is really affecting my walking and sleeping, the back pain is much worse when lying done.

Prior to this, for some visceral discomfort/pain I used successfully Ibuprofen 600mg twice a day. I could sleep, walk, cook, bake. I was prescribed Tramadol 50mg., I took it a couple of times, but I went back to my Ibuprofen, which worked just fine for visceral pain.

Imon 6mg pred wich I cant lower anymore .I was given ibuprofen by my G P but it doesnt touch it The only way I can ease it is in red hot water for 30 mins as anyone got any Ideas for me excuse my typing BTW thanks

I’ve been taking ibuprofen and Tylenol and it really doesn’t help. I didn’t always have this problem. I’m wondering if it’s excessive inflammation?

All are relieved with 200mg ibuprofen, so I have not been too concerned. I was having bad headaches, but these seem to have subsided, but the main thing is fatigue or lack of energy.

Instinct said go to 7mg but after 7 days no relief so increased to 9mg still no relief after 3days and despite taking ibuprofen still end up sobbing with the pain. Should I go to 10mg and see if pain goes. I realise if it’s more than a few days I will have to taper again slowly.
