Thinking about stopping Xgeva
When my urologist suggested I see an oncologist I was immediately put on Abi and had a Dexa bone scan scheduled. That was August and scan was done Dec. In the meantime he started me on Xgeva because I had been on adt for 16 months. He agreed to 1 injection every 3 months after 6 months even though my

On treating micro-metastatic disease
I watched a video posted by PCRI recently on YouTube. In the video entitled "Treating micro-metastatic disease", Dr Mark Scholz mentioned that undergoing one year of ADT is sufficient post radiation. Thereafter just monitor the PSA for any rise, and use PSMA PET scan to locate any cancer and to radiate

Should I be asking for an increase in Levo?
I have an appt with my endo on Thursday to discuss my latest results and those from last August and April when I was taking different amounts of levo. I always follow the suggested procedure of stopping Vit B complex a week before, early blood test and not taking levo for 24 hours. My most recent

PSA uptick
Quick background, my dad was diagnosed with metastatic PCa in 2018. Initially treated with docetaxel + ADT. His PSA has been at/near undetected (<0.01-0.02) for several years, but recently there has been an uptick to 0.08 (similar on a recheck, so not lab error). Obviously still low-level, but concerning

Zoladex experience
Just wanted to hear other people's experiences on Zoladex if possible because I don't know if my symptoms are all in my head or I'm just being made to feel that way by the consultant. Who's only advice every time I go for a review every couple of months day just keep going with it a little bit longer

Reason for ADT
Why is ADT used after SBRT? If radiation kills the cancer or makes it impossible to reproduce, then why do some doctors recommend ADT?

6 months after MRI Guided SBRT at MSK
After a year and a half of Active Surveillance, my cancer progressed to GL 4+3 and I decided to have MRI Guided SBRT in August at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC under the care of Dr. Sean McBride. I had 5 sessions over 10 days and each lasted about an hour. The entire team at MSK was wonderful and

A Clinical Trial saved my Life ..12 years a Survivor of Advanced Metastatic Prostate Cancer, Stage 4.
When Alfred Samuels was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2012, it felt as if his world had fallen apart overnight. Doctors said surgery wasn’t an option for him because the cancer had spread beyond his prostate, and he started to lose hope. But then he joined a clinical trial and began treatment

Help Needed! Have I got Pernicious Anaemia?
I hope this isn't too long and/or too boring. I suspect I have PA but as with a lot of people here, no-one seems to take B12 deficiency seriously. I also have hypothyroidism so as my symptoms got increasingly worse over the past few years, I blamed my thyroid - the two conditions have many symptoms

how often should you have a Dexa scan ?
I had one when I was first diagnosed with PMR about 6 years ago. Since then I have tapered down the pred but couldn’t get below 2 mgs until … I restarted HRT. I have now managed to taper to zero for the last 2 weeks and fingers crossed, I’m hoping that’s it ! Mindful it could always creep back of course

Targeting Mets w SBRT- what’s your experience?
Have any of you guys had any luck targeting distant metastases with SBRT after your mets remained small or dormant while on ADT but after PSMA scans had showed more in number than olago (more than five mets)? My PSMA scan in January 2022 showed 10 scattered small mets so our area SBRT (Cyberknife) radiation

Benefits of split dosing T4
I hearken back to my post a few months ago https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/149418197/high-morning-cortisol-and-t3 where I was struggling (and still am) to find a solution to the severe waking anxiety I have had to tolerate for years now. As I feel my adrenals are still playing a big part

Hello everyone. Firstly I want to say a big thanks to everyone that helped me understand my mum's results and situation. I also got my wires crossed and gave some wrong info. My mum did have a test before they prescribed 25mg, TSH 8.58. They said as she was 'borderline' they would try levo before considering

Getting to the root of my anxiety
I am 57 and I was considered in menopause at 52 years old, however I went through perimenopause for approximately 5-7 years prior. I am in therapy, but it does not seem to be helping. Unfortunately I cannot take any Hormone Replacement Therapy because I had one positive result for a gene that increases

Progesterone post medicated FET
I'd like to ask all the ladies who conceived after a HRT/medicated FET, how much progesterone pessaries were you on? I'm on 4 x 200mg vaginal capsules so 800mg/day. Wonder if anyone is/was on a lower dosage. Just thinking about reducing to 3 x /day (600mg) having seen the patients' leaflet for Utrogestan
