It’s his left hip that bothers him the most and the doctor has prescribed hydromorphone however he doesn’t like to take it often. My concern ( because I always worry) is that his mobility will continue to deteriorate.

Spinal mets and vetrebrae fractures have been found and the hospital have given him an infusion of Zoledronic Acid to try to bring the calcium levels down and reduce the pain also given high doses of Hydromorphone. He has Chemo Refractory Disease and no Clinical Trials will benefit him.

I’ve been on 2mg of Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) for a couple of months now for hip and bone pain. The pain has gotten much worse, so my oncologist upped me to 4mg each time. (I’m still taking 2mg, I just take it every 3 hours now instead of every 6 hours).

I was given hydromorphone for pain. After not too long a period of time my PSA went down and my pain subsided and I could walk in a straight line again and life kind of sort of return to normalish. End of the short "phase 1". (~ 8 weeks for me, inc. all sorts of tests.)

Can anyone speak to hydromorphone and its suitability for RLS treatment. Of course I would very much appreciate any feedback and suggestions. Sorry for the long message however I wanted to try to provide a complete picture. I look forward to getting some feedback. Thankyou! Bobby

I am now in constant pain and have resorted to a daily regime of hydromorphone (13+ mg) just to manage it. I am not happy since there was never any compelling reason to make this switch that was communicated to me.

Hello my palliative doctor prescribed me Hydromorphone for pain but it makes me really sick and nauseous, any suggestions for other options that you have a good experience with? I appreciate your opinions and suggestions on this matter.

For 3 years now buprenorphine has helped, but today I took hydromorphone for pain that my surgeon prescribed, Nexium that my family doctor recommended to take to keep the aspirin I have to take postop to keep from getting ulcers, and cyclobenzaprine.

It could be a lot worse, I still feel my life is blessed And that other folks are dealing with much more But this is a hefty burden And I will not apologize For time outs I started on Hydroxychloraquine, then added hydromorphone 4mg, gabapentin and prednisone 25mg.

Hee is also being given pain medication which is hydromorphone, midazolam, and propofol. He recently went for another CT they said his pancreatitis has been better than before but still needs to be less inflamed. They are still giving him sedatives and believe he is sedated again.

This category of medications includes codiene, hydrocdone ,morphine , hydromorphone , methadone , Buprenorphine and pentazocine.

So I’ve tried the gamut of drugs from Clonazepam to codeine , Ropinarole, O God that was a nightmare.I’m now on Gabapentin 1500 mg nightly and was on Tramadol 200 nightly till recently when it was switched to hydromorphone 1mg every 4 hrs.

It is being treated with 10-12 mg of slow release hydromorphone and break through 1 mg tablets 1-2 mg every 4 hours as needed . Stairs are very difficult and painful as is getting up and down from a sitting position. I can sit for 1 to 2 hours at the longest .

Yesterday she said put me out of my agony & grabbed her hydromorphone & locked herself in bathroom. Called hospital to ask for counsellor-I did not want her hurt by police due to surgery-she grabbed phone & hung up.

Over a week I might use Tramadol twice, OxyContin once or twice and the same with Hydromorphone. Never twice in a row and never more than one in a night.

The medicine in the pump is hydromorphone. The dosage is not as large as the pills, but being able to go directly to the blood stream is far cry better than having to be absorbed through the body. It allows the medicine to join the cancer fight right away.
