Tired of Dealing With Severe Asthma
I have severe chronic asthma going on for nearly two years. I find myself increasing tired of dealing with asthma, doctors, treatments, record keeping, disability and all of the other bits that go along with asthma that simply refuses to bow to the current set of medicines and techniques for treating

Update - hydrocortisone during thyrotoxicosis - explanation of cortisol states on thyroid hormones.
I found an answer to my initial query, which was essentially, how do glucocorticoids both assist in the conversion of T4 to T3 while simultaneously inhibiting the same conversion? To put it another way, we must have cortisol to convert T4 to T3 - but glucocorticoids are administered during a thyroid

Urgent - Help me understand the role of hydrocortisone during thyrotoxicosis
If the body needs cortisone to convert T4 to T3, then why does administering hydrocortisone during thyroid storm inhibit peripheral conversion of T4 to T3? Page 678 indicates that cortisone is used to treat thyrotoxicosis, for this reason. http://www.med.illinois.edu/depts_programs/sciences/clinical

Do I stop Napraxon before blood tests
Hi quick question. I am due to have a blood test prior to hospital appointment. Currently on hydroquinone Napraxon and stomach tablets. Feel like nothings working. I've never had any abnormalities in blood work. Would it better to stop Napraxon before my blood test and if so how long for? Thanks in

DHEA has brought back periods!
Hi I'm posting this to several forums to try to get some advice. I'm treating my adrenals in advance of treating my thyroid, in the hope I might not need to do the latter. Following a saliva adrenal stress test through Dr Sarah Myhill in the UK (where I live), I've been supplementing with 20mg DHEA and

Pressure Stocings
I first contracted cellulitus way back in 2001 which was my last visit to stay with friends in Malawi who I used to visit every year in December/ January time. It was then that my left leg was infected resulting in cellulitus which eventually developed in to Lymphodoema in both legs. Unfortunately there

Possibly extra things to try...?
Hello lovely coughing people! So... after over a year of brilliant control (mostly), the hurricane and pollen and haymaking have thrown that out the window. Sudden onset but constant coughing / tightness since 6am Sunday. I am lucky to have rescue antibiotics, steroids and nebs at home, so I started

Hydrocortisone 10 mg shortage
Hello, I know a few of us are on hydrocortisone for adrenal insufficiency / Addison's. Unfortunately 10 mg Hydrocortisone tablets have suddenly become hard to get hold of. The department of health has placed them on a 'generics in short supply' list which allows pharmacists to pay extra to get hold

Armour
I have just picked up my first supply of Armour. Other than taking it 1/2 hr before breakfast is there anything else I should know/do. So excited about starting to feel better. I have to take DHEA and hydrocortisone cream on awakening - busy morning!

I am just about to start a clinical trial, that new drug which is similar to Xolair. I am quite keen to know if the drug is effective in me, my consultant has seen some great results in very similar patients, and so i'm hopefully it could be good for me long term. I am however keen to make things as

My health is getting worse by the day
I have no idea what to do now, I have been up again all night with terrible stomach aches & soreness, running to the loo constantly, struggling to breathe and just feeling awful, I am freezing cold in certain area's and burning hot in others. What ever I take I can not shift Candida and I can not tolerate
