Hydrocortisone and pain.
Five days on the hydrocortisone. Was on the prednisone since May and when cortisol test of last month read 3.1 my rheumatologist sent me to endocrinologist. Endocrinologist has me on 20 mgs hydrocortisone which is equivalent to 5 mgs prednisone. I’m eating very little and gaining a half lb daily and

Hi, I've posted several times on this and potential thyroid issues over the past 6 months or so. I'll cut straight to the chase, I've had symptoms of adrenal insufficiency with low saliva cortisol testing that the NHS are deaf and blind to. Currently unable to afford private GP consults, licorice root

Non-NHS options to treating subclinical hypothyroidism?
Hi, after pushing my GP last week, they are still "very deaf" to my thyroid/antibodies and the saliva cortisol test - see below; NHS 9am serum cortisol was 309 in 2017 (compared to 376 in 2015 by Blue Horizons!). Blue Horizon Autumn 2017 Thyroid panel indicates ineffecient T4-T3 conversion: Folate (

Hydrocortisone Dosing
My cortisol test was 3.1 and rheumatologist sent me to endocrinologist to switch my prednisone to hydrocortisone. I was on 5 mgs prednisone and switched to 10 mgs hydrocortisone. I’m actually having more PMR pain on this. Does 5 mgs prednisone equal 5 mgs hydrocortisone? I’m on the 10 mgs hydrocortisone

Very low cortisol.
I had a cortisol test yesterday and I came back at 4. Rheumatologist is trying to get a consult with endocrinologist for me. She said the endocrinologist would put me on hydrocortisone but she could not do that herself. Rheumatologist said to up my 5 mgs prednisone. Add another 5 mgs tonight. Then

Tuberculosis
Hi everyone, I have just been told I have tuberculosis! I have emphysema and bronchiectasis and this news was a bit of a shock. The TB nurse is visiting me tomorrow to guide me through the medication I will need (mainly various antibiotics) but I am still totally shocked as I thought TB had been eliminated

Cured Topical Steroid Withdrawl
The topical steroids I was perscribed by all my doctors, for eczema and allergies, quit working August 2016. I had to quit college because the withdrawl sympoms were so bad. Now I have pretty much cured myself of the withdrawl and the allergies. If you are going through the same thing I would be happy

Low Vitamin B12 & Under active Thyroid
Hi everyone. I was at the doctors today and my Levothyroxine has been increased to 50mcg as my TSH level has went from 1.3 to 5.51. I've also had problems with my eyes for 12 weeks (since i was diagnosed as under active thyroid). I've posted before asking for advice as they are always puffy, swollen,

Low Dose Naltrexone anyone?
Hi All I've been a fully-paid-up member of the HHD club for about 20 years already. I'm 47. I've been managing flare-ups with topical steroids. That was until last year, when the steroids have become less effective. They sometimes make my skin red. I've been feeling generally unwell for the last

New Formulation of Teva Brand Levothyroxine
I have been on Health Unlocked for Thyroid Condition. I have been told by a benign Pharmacist years ago that as dosage of levothyroxine is the main thing the brand did not matter. However whatever you get will never work how your body would, so the thing is to get brand that does the least damage in

Suppliers of Cortef or hydrocortisone.
I have adrenal fatigue and did a saliva test to confirm this. So I have started taking hydrocortisone, which I already had, but don’t know where to buy it from in future. If anyone could PM me if they know of any reliable sources.

Has anyone been on venlafaxine?
Hi, I was at my gp for my sleeping issues (not being able to sleep or getting up during the night) She thinks it might be down to the hydrocortisone as I have currently switched over to it. I’m also struggling with my mood and anxiety. It’s difficult living with an ‘invisible’ illness, you can be

Is this a sign of too much ACE or need more?
I, unfortunately, had a severe adrenal crash and i am trying to get myself out. I am very low in the morning and very low at noon. High at night. I am using Seriphos at night, I am suffering terrible insomnia. Not sure if from night high or morning lows. Hydrocortisone is not an option for me. ND started

Please help with increasing T3 dose!
Hi, I'm looking for some advice...I have been diagnosed with Hashimotos for 3 or so years now and have been on a tiny dose of 50/25mcg thyroxine. I also had a diagnosis of CFS for the last 6 years. For the last 2 years I have been pretty much housebound and have to spend almost all my time lying down

Hydrocortisone and fillings...
Hi, I’m due two fillings tomorrow at the dentist. I currently take 15mg of hydrocortisone (10mg am and 5pm). I’m now worried about ‘adrenal crisis caused by stress’ should I increase my dosage before my appointment or is there no need? This is my first dental treatment since starting on steroids therefore
