Weight gain from asthma meds
Hi everyone, I am trying to pinpoint exactly which medicine has made me put on so much weight this year. I’ve been on many more prednisone bursts than usual (but none for two months now). My adrenal glands are struggling so my doctor put me on 20 mg of hydrocortisone daily. I also started xolair in April

Changing from Prednisolone to Hydrocortisone?
I was having problems with tapering with pred I’m down to 5mg but getting further has been challenging. I saw my Endocrinologist this week and talked about my adrenal function whether it was kicking in and how I was feeling rough to say the least even after being on the 5mgs for several weeks. He suggested

Adrenal insufficiency - jitters/shakes in night and morning
First of all can I apologize to anybody who has answered any of my posts and I haven't got back to them. I'm really sorry and I do appreciate any answers that I get. I was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency by my rheumatologist in August after a long hard fight and put onto emergency level of hydrocortisone

How an AI solution can design new tuberculosis drug regimens.
With a shortage of new tuberculosis drugs in the pipeline, a software tool from the University of Michigan can predict how current drugs—including unlikely candidates—can be combined in new ways to create more effective treatments. “This could replace our traditional trial-and-error system for drug

It’s been a loooong night 😴😴
It all started Sunday when I woke with a cold which my gut told me was going to hit my chest. But it’s 10am and I’m just snotty and sinusy and a mild asthma issue. Treat it and reassure my mum (who’d I’d been visiting) I’m not bad enough for hosp. Make my 12 o’clock train and feel dodgy enough I need

Blood test results - and lichen sclerosus!
Hi all, I posted a few days ago about my latest diagnosis of Lichen Sclerosus. I've been on Thyroxine for a couple of years now (75mg). Trip to West Africa
Hello everyone! I need your advice please. Has anyone travelled to Africa since diagnosed? I'm planning a trip to Senegal and I need a few vaccines (yellow fever, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, hepatitis A) and also the malaria tablets. Is it too risky for me to travel there and have all these vaccines?

Digestive Enzymes
Hi all Apologies as I know this isn't related to Vegan foods 'per se' but related to supplements. I have been having a lot of problems with my skin and by looking online I would say that I have too much Histamine as I have bumps on my arms, legs, neck and back that itch a lot. I'm on anti-histamines

Levothyroxine with Hydrocortisone
Hello all, I hoping someone has experience of taking these 2 together! I have just this morning starting a trial of Levothyroxine, prescribed by my endocrinologist. I am ACTH deficient (secondary Addison's Disease), so take Hydrocortisone as replacement therapy x3daily, and have done for 8 years now.

Stuck on 8mg
I feel stuck on 8mg Pred (four months) which I take at 09:30 with breakfast now. Either the PMR is well controlled or is in remission - I have no stiffness. My symptoms when reducing are increased histamine intolerance / chemical sensitivity. Functional doc thinks that I may have DOA deficiency (the

Anti-arthritis drug also stops tuberculosis bacillus from multiplying in blood stem cells.
Immunologist Johan Van Weyenbergh (KU Leuven) and his Belgian-Brazilian colleagues have shown that a drug used to fight arthritis also stops the process that allows the tuberculosis bacillus to infect and hijack blood stem cells. Tuberculosis (TB) may affect any part of the body, but the spread of
