Prednisolone v hydrocortisone
A short while ago I posted regarding my problems reducing my pred dose. I had an appointment with a consultant” endo “ who referred me for a synacthen test the results of which I posted on here . At the time he said that depending on the result of the test he would recommend either that I stay on pred

When to take Thyroxine advice please
Hi everyone, I’ve been taking my thyroxine (100/125), with all my morning meds + tiny bit of food, followed by breakfast 60-90 minutes later for 10 years and my endo says this is fine. I can’t say I’ve ever felt the thyroxine’s made any difference, and lately other major health problems have begun

Hi everyone I was put on 5mg Pred in 2020 due my asthma flaring up after several emergency courses (actually think it was Covid but no testing around at the time) and to cut a long story short my cortisol levels are now very low. Had to really push respiratory to do a short synacthen test, which came

I turned up positive for Covid Wednesday after taking an LFT despite living like Howard Hughes (minus the bank balance) for two years. I am on Methotrexate, Prednisolone, Hydrocortisone and Tocilizumab yet despite that lot throwing the gates wide open in terms of having any immune defence they are some

Synactthen test
Could anyone give me a fuller explanation of the following please . I have just had the medical report for the Synacthen test that they i recently had at my local hospital. It states that “my baseline cortisol was 248 and that the 30 min cortisol was 369 implying that this was a sub-optimal test therefore

My Addisons disease (adrenal insufficiency)
Hi. I am 59 later this month and in January this year I was diagnosed with Addisons disease. I've been in prednisolone oral tablets for the last 6/7 years to control my asthma. Every time I had a chest infection they would give me antibiotics and up my steroids. It got to the point my lungs couldn't

Stopping Tocilizumab
My Ophthalmologist has now mentioned ending my "allocation" of Tocilizumab whereby I will be maintained on 15 mg of Hydrocortisone and 20 mg of Methotrexate. I am unnerved by this and feel it will leave me at an increased vulnerability to relapse and have only one functioning eye. Has anyone gone through

Petition for publicly owned manufacturer for off-patent, generic drugs in the UK
I hope the mods don't mind me posting. There's a petition to "Establish a national UK manufacturer of essential, off-patent, generic medicines (such as hydrocortisone, liothyronine or insulin) within the NHS. Make these medicines at close to production cost, in order to prevent the unethical practice
